Big presentation day! Whee! FFBO to the rescue when the power died this morning, but aside from that, all is well!

Morning of the big presentation and power is out in my neighborhood and surrounding 10 blocks.
Getting dressed in the dark = not when you want to be experimenting. lol.
Since I have a FFBO I am sure I look "grate"!

I think this jacket looks nice with the jeans and the layers. I don't really notice that extra length when it is open either - hmm, so many tough decisions.

I had the same thought as you, Suz about the length of the jacket: I was told I could have it shortened (about $50).
I just folded it under for now: better?
The longer length is the same as my cardigans; I can wear the jacket over the cardigan without it sticking out. I would have to go cardigan-less if I shortened it.

I quite like this jacket; it was suggested on a whim because I didn't want black and I didn't want a moto style (tried on a few and it was too RATE for me).
I think it is still a bit tough with the asymmetrical zip and it has some motorcycle vibe in the shoulder and the cuffs. Also love the back.

I have an itching to go to my fabulous Danier outlet tomorrow and I was hoping to find a leather jacket that would work with various capsules - but most likely my travel and date night one - and will play nicely with dresses.
I would imagine that length would be a consideration; I think I would be looking at a waist-length one, because my skirt would just flare underneath it.
I tried to scour Pinterest for some ideas before bothering you nice ladies, but I couldn't really find an answer to my questions.

ETA: My mom is making fun of me - because this is exactly how she used to wear her leather jacket when she was my age! And midi-skirts were in! She had a pleather jacket, but really wanted a leather one - and my dad's first gift to her was a beautiful grey leather jacket with a short trench style (she still wears it and refuses to give it to me)!

They were playing a lot of JT on the radio today, so I suppose he inspired me today to wear this dress! Not a usual one in my rotation, I think it has survived by hiding out in the date capsule.
Also, navy doesn't harm it's chances!!!
