WiW: 1.08 - Date Night! Hair Down for YLF

Aww, my curls lost a bit of bounce, but the hair is still pretty poofy! Will try to have fun!

ETA: Pretty low key event, worked on our puzzle (500 pieces; about 100 more to go) and had burgers and tried cookies from a new bakery down the street!

And, we're starting Season Three of Game of Thrones!

Vote for Date Hair!!! (Thanks!)

Just as it is stated! Tee hee. Took me about 20 min to curl this morning and plenty of poof to work with in the afternoon still (no additional product).

I have a preference in mind, but I will put it to YLF vote while I run some errands!

WiW: 1.07 - A Nip/Tuck with the Sewing Machine!

This dress I bought on clearance last year and I sized up in it to allow room for le boobage, but unfortunately, this meant a wider waist: I took out the sewing machine and nipped in four of my dresses this weekend, and I notice the difference in fit right away! I hope it looks okay too :)

I guess my little $70 ikea machine has more than paid for itself!

Curls in 15 minutes ... Without tears! (ETA: Lasts >10 hrs)

There. I brushed the whole thing out and redid to see what my timing was - under 15 minutes for all my hair and a check. I can't figure out how to add more pics to my previous post (sorry).

I used the looser curls for this though; I am not really a fan of Shirley Temple. ;) No product, I am just going to wear it to see how long these curls last for - the last time I had curls put in professionally it was about $75 and lasted a day with product, so if I can do it x3 for myself then the expense is recouped.

Okay, enough posts from me today!! I will go and hide now. :p thanks for being indulgent.

ETA: I washed out my hair around 11 pm last night, and I put in these curls around 12 noon - so I'd say they lasted about 10 hrs. I made dinner and did various household chores, watched some TV, went to the gym. They looked slightly bleh at hour 4 and I just floof-ed them back up with fingers. No problem at the gym.

Hair Update: ETA - Better Pics :p

Haha. K/R a $230 hair appliance.

I didn't know they came that expensive but they make a damn easy curl.

ETA: Appliance is the BaBylliss Miracle Curl - the exact one the guy in the salon used. There is a cheaper model, but I used both and this is much easier.

I curled my right side myself. Nothing done to the left side.

No product either: curls will last up to three days with stuff, but I don't put hairspray or stuff in my hair.

WiW: 1.06 - Running Errands with Crazy Hair

I am still not sold on this whole hair down thing, but I thought I would try it on an errand day: pick up some tailoring and see if I can get some hair solutions.

I think it does photograph poorly, though, but I really am feeling like a bum today because I the hair.

But I will try it.

Grumps. :p

WiW: 01.03 - Date night! And a pretty white dress...

Last night was a rough shift and I am glad it is over. A lot of high emotion stuff and I had to go above the chain of command to do what I thought was right. So, pretty stressful and I really didn't want to go out for dinner, but I miss the boy. :p

So I went with an old standby: this dress is fast becoming my FFBO and I may have to duplicate these cardigans!

Bonus: was cruising around the Nordies website and found this beauty. I am not crazy enough to spend $1000 on a wedding dress, right?

WiW: 1.02 - Inspired by Lady Spade

Taking her out for another overnight shift! I have only been having lovely adventures with her so far: people around here don't recognize the brand so I am less worried about theft.

I have had this dress sitting around for while and never quite figured out how to work it into an outfit because of the bright stripe at the bottom. I thought today I would just keep everything neutral and let it pop!!

I hope this works ;)

Happy new year!
