WiW: Blogger Inspired! ... ETA: Inspiration Pic!

I have been struggling with this dress in the worst way (unworn for months!) but I tried to google it last night and found a cute blogger (The Clothes Horse - #3) who not only has a lot of the same clothes as me, but we have a similar aesthetic!

I hope you will bear with me as I try out a few new looks! I will try to post the inspiration outfit at home. Can't figure it out here on the iPhone. LOL!

Any other suggestions for this dress will be awarded with virtual cookies!

Lyn, I really like the way you've styled this dress. Would really like to see the photo from the blog.

Lovely dress. Perhaps the same combo but with purple shirt and blouse? Perhapse with a pussy bow bounce?

Love the dress on you! When you get a chance, would love to see a link to your inspiration.

Oh man, that is a beautiful dress! ::wipes drool:: And very fresh and spunky with the dots.

Might be fun to have a top with voluminous sleeves layered under it as well, or even a *more* flared skirt peeking out.

Oh, I like! I'm so wimpy about pattern mixing but you do it so beautifully.

Love the pattern mixing and the different shades of blue.

wow, Lyn, you are on a roll! The cardis with a cinched dress is a fab look on you. Love the pattern on your dress, too.

    Wow, fun pattern mixing!

Thanks! Got a ton of compliments on the dress today, although the zipper got stuck ... ugh, #zipperstress

@Anya - I have a purple pussy bow blouse! :D I will try that next time!
@Manidipa - I need to get a poofypoofy skirt for that! And I might!
@Tricia - I just close my eyes and go for it ... glad you approve!

Lyn, I love all of the blues layered together. Your new blogger inspiration looks like so much fun, and she has a lot of your clothes? Perfect!

Finding a new source of inspiration is so rejuvinating! I look forward to seeing what you come up with. I like a classic sheath shape in a feminine print -- so fresh and unexpected. And I think the belt is a great addition -- adding structure, weight and drawing atttention to your little middle.

    You look terrific.

Your version is even better and more fun than your inspiration photo. You look adorable

I love this dress -- I can see why you have had problems styling it. The print. I think you found your style twin she has a cute and feminine style just like you. I like the juxtaposition of the dots with the almost lace-like print. but I think I would have preferred the reverse (light back ground and dark dots) The teal is an excellent color with the dress and I appreciate how you always define your waist. You look wonderful.

Very cute! I think you rocked it.

Great interpretation! Lyn, you are a gamine too, aren't you?

I like each items here, and how you have replaced the Richelieu shooties with cognac knee-length boots. The cardi and dress together are a poem. And the fun shirt's collar suits your bubbly, smart personality. But somehow, something about the collar's shape and shirt's print doesn't work as well as it could here... I'm trying to pinpoint what it is and I think it might be a question of materials. Visually, the darker shirt brings a lot of attention to your face and top which is good, better than the original version of this outfit IMO, especially with the belted waist. The dress does carry both blues. However, one (cardi) is soft and gentle, being one smooth colour, while the other (shirt), with its oversize dots and expressive, sturdy collar points, is climatic and powerful. I think there is the culprit. Take the same shirt, remove the dots, and then the balance would work. Or swap the cardi (which could be less tedious than removing the dots LOL) for a better supporting act and you're in business. I would love to see the outfit without the cardi, just with the dotted shirt.
    (Now I go hide somewhere).

I agree with krishnidoux. You are absolutely a gamine. I'd love to see this with a simpler blouse, Lyn. So cute.
