WiW: 11.25 - Navy Dress Replacement?

My lovely H&M dress had a hole after about 14 wears, so I was out and about looking for something similar to replace it while it was getting fixed. Since the hole was at a seam, I am going to imagine poor workmanship may be a cause (and not too surprised considering the price point).

I really liked this "indigo" dress that I am hoping to use as it's replacement. The price point is higher and I am familiar with the higher end pieces of this company: I have worn some for years.

Does it look like a worthy replacement? Bonus: "sleeves"!

I think it looks great on you!

This is totally your shape of dress and the colour is gorgeous.
My only concern is that the wide neckline + full skirt is giving me a 50s party dress vibe.  Might be no big deal with a cardigan or jacket overtop, but something to think about...

Looks lovely on you Lyn. The fit seems perfect and the indigo color is so rich and gorgeous. I think it would be a versatile purchase as it could be styled to be either very dressy (LBD equivalent -- "Little Indigo Dress") or business casual (with addition of one of your fab cardigans).

Just your style! Is #3 different to the dress in the first two pics? The neckline looks higher.

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

Ah, the replacement is pic 1/2 and the original is 3 :)

It's pretty. I agree with Emily it seems a little dressier than the original.

Is that a good thing? ;p

I think so! It's not too dressy like wearing a prom dress to work or something. It just looks a little fancier in the cut and the fabric. I like that shade of blue on you better, it's lovely.

Drat. I wanted to wear a prom dress to work!!! Grrrrr. ;)

  • replied 10 years ago

Haha, well there is nothing stopping you from doing so, you might just feel a bit out of place :)

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

You forget where I work my dear :)

  • replied 10 years ago

Well, I was going to say something about that but thought better :)

  • carambola replied 10 years ago

Sorry to disappoint, but it doesn't quite read Christmas Fairy to me... maybe New Year's? Love it on you, regardless!
