WiW: 11.23 - Not my favorite...

I have been toying around with taking this dress up an inch or two, and as much as I love it, it has been difficult to style for me. The length is great for work, but it's neckline scoops a touch too much. Maybe I should shorten the straps?

Does it look off to you lovely YLF ladies?

Don't really think this is up to your usual high standards, maybe it is the polka dot shirt underneath? I agree that the length is fine though do you think that if you shorten the straps the waist might be a little too high?

I think it is the pattern mix that is detracting.  The dress and cardi fit you very well and the silhouette is lovely on you.  Could you try it with a slightly higher round neck under - a t-shirt or tank?

I would consider shortening the straps but making sure that it doesn't make the dress too short (or move the waist too much, like Aleta says). Or is there a wide hem that can be let down to compensate?

how low are the armholes?  that will limit how much room you have to take up the straps.

actually, i really like this length on you,  more "doctor-y"

I would change the polka dot shirt underneath to a solid color shirt. I like the length. How about wearing a turtle neck or scoop neck top under?

It's not as high as you normally wear. Is that why it feels a little off? I think it's a great length on you and I'm worried if you try to raise the neckline you make affect the armholes.

Ah. I didn't even think about the arm holes! Good call!

I guess I need to buy a solid short for layering! :)
