Quality of "Theory" Brand?

I found this very pretty dark navy/black dress at Winners (TJ Maxx) which is by the brand Theory - it seems very versatile and comes with a teeny tiny hole in a seam which I have already fixed - I want to have a pretty and versatile shirt dress, but I'm not willing to invest the big bucks until I get YLF okay that this is a reputable brand :)

I stuck on pics 1-3 so you can see the details; the colour is more like #4 though - I like the sleeves a lot, because I think it will make the dress more versatile! :)

And it has pockets! And hits me just above the knee, unlike these super tall models!

I love the "trench coat" vent at the back (5) - this dress + nude pumps makes me feel very Kate M :)

PS: It was on third markdown for $110 - it seems like Neiman Marcus was selling it for $275 in pink.

    It's a good brand, I think....Suz and Una buy that brand.

    Ditto what Dana said: very high quality.  The dress was probably originally at least $300. Definitely a major score!!!

    Ditto what IK said- Theory makes beautiful quality things.
    That's a great price, and I like the dress, but is it really short?

    One of my favourite brands. I have many Theory pieces. Impeccable quality. Thumbs are up!

    FAB find!! 

    I got a pair of Theory pants and a sweater at Winner's last fall. So far, I love everything of theirs I have (trench, 2 pairs of pants and a sweater) and am aiming for more, LOL!

    My new favorite brand for work although they run small - perfect for you! Very minimal and streamlined. It falls into the so classic it's edgy category for me. Lucky you - what a score!

    I adore all my theory stuff. Great production value . Bonus that it is actually reasonable for the design and workmanship.

    My go to brand along with helmet Lang.

    Lucky!! I've been looking for shirt dress exactly like that one. Ah well, the search continues for me. My trench coat is Theory and I have a Theory LBD and I've had them both about 4 or 5 years now. They have both held up really well, and I love the LBD so much I'm going to have it altered since I lost some weight, even though the alteration is going to be kind of expensive.

    Great find!  Love a shirtdress....

    Theory quality is good judging by the few items I have.  Probably dry clean right?   It seems most of their items are which drives the cost up but 
    you got a great  price.

    @ Mia - It says dry clean only ... I have been remiss and usually hand wash things that say dry clean only :p 

    @ Ana - I will keep my eyes peeled. I have to stop by to get some more workout wear anyway :)

    Thanks, Lyn! You will probably want to dry clean the dress, just because pressing out all those pleats would be a major pain.

    Sounds like a good find on the dress!

    I've been exploring Theory and Theysken's Theory and  like a lot of their fabrics and the construction, so it's definitely a real contender for workwear, but so far I have not yet found the right items, or determined how likely it is that this brand "gets me" fit-wise. A local dept store carries  a small selection.  Have some other items on order.
