WiW: Something Feels A Bit Off. Help?

Hmm. I think it is time to clean my closet. I had a struggle with getting dressed this morning which admittedly was definitely more difficult due to lack of cropped cardigans.

I felt my cardigans were too long, and there is something about the blazer with the high neckline I don't really like. Hmm.

Any suggestions or insights for what is making this outfit not work?

Hmmm now that you mention it. I didn't like blazer and high neck lune. Feels a little less ladylike which is your style

I think a scoop neck would look softer under the blazer but I think the way you are wearing it works too. IKWYM about cropped sweaters but I really like the proportions of the jacket with the full skirt. So pretty!

I think it may be the neckline. But I think it still looks lovely.

    Would a necklace help?

I love your top half and your bottom half, but maybe not together. This is a very nice outfit, and on me, I would consider this outfit a real winner (as I am not quite at your level fashion-wise). But I have seen many outfits on you, and I think that a different topper, not a different neckline, might be even better. The fit of the blazer looks perfect, but a gentler (?! drapier?) topper would work well with the skirt.

The blazer is too structured for the rest of the outfit? That's really a guess because I think you mix things much better than I do!

Hmm, I agree that it's the high neckline.  Otherwise I really like this outfit.  A longer necklace would probably fix it, but if I remember correctly, you can't wear necklaces at work, right?  Maybe a scarf?  Can you wear those?

Of course, just switching to a scoop neck top would work too!

I thought it might be the texture of the top.  It looks almost quilted which feels more fall/winter to me.  It feels too heavy for the   brighter jacket and skirt with lots of white.

Having said all that, I still think it is a good outfit and like the proportions.

Yes - I think its the neckline of the top too.  I don't like that look on me either.  It would be an easy fix with a little lower neckline - but all in all, I think you look pretty darn good!

Thanks! :) I actually got a lot of compliments on this outfit at work today - maybe it's more accessible?

@ Ramya - I think so too; it makes my shoulders look bigger. Linebacker :p

@ Kelly - I had to look up what IKWYM means :P HAHA, you're so tech savy! Will keep my eyes peeled.

@ Kristin - I tried it with both long and short, but I still didn't feel too comfortable with that.

@ Clara - I don't know if it's about "levels" of fashion, but I think you're right - I could swap different pieces in this outfit to make it work. No one piece is the culprit.

@ Peri - I ended up just wearing a black cardigan that I had at work for the afternoon - felt a lot more comfy.

@ Diana - The necklace/scarf rule is getting a lot more lax. My staff person wears beautiful scarves, and a lot of the staff wear necklaces. I may try tomorrow.

@ Dianthus - That's an interesting point! I didn't think of the texture of the top! Thanks!

@ Marley - I will look for more scoop neck tops!

Lovely mix of colors here.  I think as other's have said, the top half is not as soft as the skirt, so that maybe what is off here.  I like the idea to wear a scoopneck top.
