WiW 5.31 - Denim and Floral for the Weekend!

See, I wear casual clothes too, contrary to what the guys at work think! Lol!

I love this dress; it's a replacement for another dress that I had that I couldn't wear to as many places due to general boobiness. Hope this one is more fab! Not sure if I should keep both of them - the older one is more booby, and this one is cotton vs. the old one is a polyester. Maybe I can put it in my travel wardrobe?

Your casual puts mine to shame! I like both dresses, though I agree that the old one might be a little more casual due to the neckline. I could see it for travel/vacations.

But I'm also thinking about all the purging threads on the forum lately. Will you wear it enough to justify holding onto it for travel occassions?

I think the new one is much more sophisticated. The older one is still cute but do you need both?

  • replied 9 years ago

I would keep the new and purge the old one.

I do have a sentimental attachment to the old one -- it's the first dress I bought online from a Canadian store :3

I like the new dress best. The floral is so pretty but the sweetness is tamed by the denim. Maybe put the older one in holding for the season to see if you want to wear it.

Yay new dress! Your casual is my dressy though.

I like both dresses, for different reasons. Both have a fun print, but the first one does look more professional, while the second one reads "fun, casual weekend" to me. However, I know that I would not want two dresses that similar to each other in my wardrobe, so I would keep whichever one was more my favorite or whichever one I was able to get more use out of. But if you want a special travel capsule, like you suggested, maybe the old dress would be a good choice for that. Polyester can be so easily washed by hand and hung up to dry when you're on a trip!

I prefer the new dress. And I just read your breakup thread - adding my hugs and agreement that it is 100% his loss.

I also prefer the new dress, it is perfect on you. The older one is nice too but compared with the new one it's no contest!

I'd say keep the new one, purge the old! The new one has a classier vibe. And natural fibres over polyester is a win in my book.

    Love this casual look!

And which Canadian store did you buy the new dress?

  • Kristin L replied 9 years ago

You look great in the first one. And your casual look looks very polished. If you think you'll wear it again, I'd keep the old one. Is there a place you can keep it, like a drawer or another closet? My first thought is to put it there and see if you miss it.

Fabulous look! Love the floral with the lightwash denim and sandals. The new dress is fantastic, definitely an upgrade - I'd purge the old one.

I might keep the second for my (imaginary lifestyle for the most part!) "resort" capsule. It looks very light, flowy and beachside, which are not bad things when one makes it to the beach!

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

I love you in these light colours. Fabulous. xo

I will put it in my beach bag, then! :) I actually have thought about purging this dress for awhile, but it's just so fun ....

@MsKatieKat - I bought this dress second hand, so I can't give you a link. Taylor is stocked at Nordies and Modcloth though, although neither of them have this dress. I think its at least a few years old, because I've never seen it before.
