WiW: 5.12 - Do all good things have to end?

Simple this morning, but a longer length. I appreciate the freedom of this dress a lot, but no pockets :(

I am surprised it doesn't hurt my face to smile, just my soul.

For better or worse, I'll find out results tomorrow. Thanks for all your help.

You look so sleek and stylish.  I'm so sorry you're going through a difficult time. Hoping for good news!

  • unfrumped replied 9 years ago

    Hoping for good news!

I'm so excited to see you trying this length. It looks so elegant on you, with the drapey-er skirt and not quite so short & flared. I don't think you  have to give up shorter, perky lengths, but this is super-grown-up& professional- looking and gives you more range in "style message " while still fitting your style persona. Also to me it has to do with proportions from shoulder to waist, and waist to hem. Sometimes just one inch longer in some styles fits my "sugar eye" for dress proportions.

  • unfrumped replied 9 years ago

    What IS the dress, BTW?

  • LACeleste replied 9 years ago

Worried about you Lyn.  Hope things go your way.

  • JulieJohn replied 9 years ago

Sending you a big virtual hug, wish it could be a real one. We are all with you, little sis.

Lyn, I have been MIA, but I hope you are OK. :( Fingers crossed for results... FWIW, you have been looking spectacular (looked up past posts to see if I had missed something...)

  • ironkurtin replied 9 years ago

Lynn, I'm sorry you're going through this. You do look lovely, and I hope your soul regains its usual bounce soon.

  • Laura (rhubarbgirl) replied 9 years ago

You look great. This is one of my favorite outfits of yours, with the navy (I think?) and brown, the belt with an edge, the ladylike shoes, and the longer length of the skirt.

I went through one of those 'waiting to hear' periods last week and might be heading into another one soon so I know how hard it can be. I will be thinking of you and hoping you get the results you seek.

  • Ledonna N. replied 9 years ago

I hope and pray that you really have a positive and peaceful resolution to this outcome. I hope your spirit and energy are renewed during this time. As always you look cool calm ans stylish. Peace be unto you.

  • rachylou replied 9 years ago

    It's a good outfit.

Things come, they go, they stay. I like to be like Cher in Clueless, and say *whatever* and carry a fuzzy pencil...

  • Peri replied 9 years ago

I missed something, but whatever it is, I hope you are okay. And the dress is great...but I want you to feel great soon also.

  • Karie replied 9 years ago

Your dress is gorgeous and I love the length. More importantly, something is troubling you so I am sending thoughts and prayers your way. Whatever it is, you have our support.

  • JenA replied 9 years ago

I realize it isn't any of our business, but I wish we knew what was the matter and could help. FWIW, lyn, you look fantastic and this length and style of dress is definitely your strong suit (though you look fab in everything). My thoughts are with you, and I hope things go your way tomorrow.

Thanks so much ladies, I'll give you guys an update maybe later in the week - I am feeling a lot better these last two days (I am back to eating again! Mmm, food!) and feel out of shock a little - and I'm laughing more with my patients instead of sitting and staring at them when they have told a funny joke, or share a piece of good news.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I do love these longer lengths - they make me feel very elegant. I can see why Kate Middleton likes them, although it's hard to find: I can't really ring up Alex McQ's staff and be like, "Hey, I need a longer skirt on that dress you have in the store!" :)

Unfrumpled - The dress is one from the winter line at a store that caters to older ladies in Canada called Cleo. I also have a black dress from them of a similar length. Their fabrication is okay, and you can get things on mega sale. This dress was originally $100 but on mega clearance I got it for about $23 and is perfect for wearing for a year or two or three :) As Angie says, leave no retail stone unturned!!

ladywone - I like that. A peaceful resolution. I think that's what I'm most hoping for.

RachylouFunny you should mention fuzzy pencils today! I was really hankering for the fuzzy green pen (with green feather topper) that I had in grade school. I think it had sparkles too.

  • jackiec replied 9 years ago

You look so nice - loving the belt!

Hope things turn out for the best, and that soon you can let go of the stress. Feel better soon.

  • Diana replied 9 years ago

Eek, I think I must've missed something while I've been traveling. Whatever it is, I'm sending you big hugs! And you look great, if that's any consolation.
