WiW: 11.04 - Keeping a Belt on the Poof

Whoo! This dress is a bit more poofy than I realized and I tried to tame that down a bit with a cardigan and the over top belt: there is a bit of subtle gold coloring with the lace overlay, and I had bought this dress last ear for parties. I recently saw online someone wear it for work with a light grey cardigan so I thought I would give it a spin too!!

I hope this works out; and we got snow!!

This works brilliantly lyn - you've taken a dressier dress and made it work appropriate while taming the pouf!

I like this a lot! The "rugged" brown pieces also help to casualize the lace.

I agree with Amy - the brown leather boots and belt really make the dress work for day.  Also, you are the poster girl for brown leather riding boots; I love how you style them with dresses.  Totally fab.

Pretty lace! Is that necklace from ModCloth?

What a pretty dress - it's like a modern Victorian piece somehow.

Very pretty and such clever styling!

That does look like a party frock, but the sweater and belt help to tame it a bit. You'll have to bring it out again for the winter holidays for sure!

Love this Lyn! Great way to get extra mileage from a dressy frock. You have very successfully casualized the lace by adding the leather boots, belt and cardigan... making it all very work appropriate. Bravo!

You look amazingly put together. May I say I just LOVE your belt collection?  You inspired me to hunt down an obi-style belt since I'd never tried one : )

    Killer

I love the poof with the high contrast lace and weathered brown belt. Fab juxtaposition.

The lace is gorgeous especially with the navy cardigan. I love your solution the cardigan tamps down the party and the belt + boots give it a little rustic edge. Inspiring -- Something new to do to my own fit and flare dress.
