I thought I would do something a bit fun today, but I did chicken out and went with a solid magenta skirt instead! I wasn't sure how much I liked this pattern...
I will have to try this skirt with another top! It is too cute to be an orphan! :)

I am not a pattern mixing expert by any stretch, but this looks good to me! Of course I am sure it looked good with the burgundy skirt too!
Awww, that was cute pattern mixing! I think the top is a very subtle pattern, so it went well. What did you wear instead?
I think they would have been fine together! Try it again some time soon!
What does it look like if you tuck the top?
The patterns didn't scald my eyes or affront my senses. Since they are in the same color family, I think you should be brave enough to wear even though I'm sure the WIW instead was lovely.
Unfortunately, I can't tuck in the top until I get the bottom tailored. It's held together with safety pins!!
I think the pattern mixing works well lyn - the fact that both have black as the background colour and both have bits of white pull it together.
I really like that pattern mix!
I see what you mean Lyn. I love the skirt's pattern by itself but not with the b/w print up top. I know you will think of something fantastic.
I second Day Vies. I know you will come up with something!
I really like the pattern mix! I think it works because both are a small scale, kind of abstract, and have pops of white. It looks like festive confetti from far away!
@ Rae - all the more perfect to celebrate my last call of my first block of internal CTU!
lyn, if you tuck, i think it could work.
:| need to tailor the skirt, then. *sigh* Ugh, was hoping I could avoid that.
ya know, the skirt deserves it!
I found a new place, I thought I might try it out :)
