My Fall Shopping List :)

This is my favorite time of year - the pre-season before the Fall/Winter shopping season which is typically my busiest time of the year! And living in Canada means that my biggest season is Fall/Winter, too!

This year though, I'm hoping to be able to prune my closet down into a well-oiled machine, so I thought I'd set myself up with 10 things that I really really really want to buy, and hopefully be able to hold off on everything else (haahah).

I tried to match each item with a reason why I wanted it - whether I was inspired by some other piece or that someone else had one, or if I needed to replace or repair something I already had. Alternatively, pieces can also add mileage to what I already own, too!

Are there any gaping holes or omissions?

THE LIST:

1) REPLACEMENT (1/2) - Nude (or Nude Toned) Pumps - I'm after the Naturalizer Lennox; none other will do :) I just need them to go on sale!

2) INSPIRATION (3/4/5) - Blackwatch Plaid Dress - After Kate M's iconic McQ dress, I can't help but want one myself! While the original (3, with mods) is a bit out of my price range (haha, a bit) - there is a pretty sheath style from Talbot's (4) which has an interesting lace detail at the hem. I am also fond of the shape of the Heartbreaker version (5) but it seems to be sold out, so much stalking will be necessary.

3) INSPIRATION (6/7) - Blue Lace Dress - I haven't had much luck with sheaths lately, so taking a page again from Kate M, I do like the flared style of a navy flare dress I found on Pinterest (7). I am hoping that it can be my Winter 2013 party dress, too - apparently I have "EVENTS" I am supposed to go to. *eye roll*

4) REPLACEMENT (8) - Ankle Booties - My last pair of booties decided to die on me last year, but I did some repairs and the CPR only lasted the rest of the season, so I do need a replacement this year. Not looking forward to the search.

5) REPAIR (9) - My Doc Martens need ++ repair - I am slightly embarrassed to take them to the cobblers. I hope he has seen worse :p

6) ENHANCER (10/11) - I plan to invest in two Anthro belts; one that will be a brown or a black basic that I can match with almost anything, and one that is a bit more fun in colour or design. I have been getting a lot of wear out of my Anthro belts, so I don't mind making the investment.

7) INSPIRATION (12) - One of my colleagues has a beautiful plaid blazer, and I want one too! I do need to find the right one for me - I am currently stalking this one from Anthropologie, although J Crew has a blackwatch plaid one :) Tee hee.

8) BONUS (13) - I want to get a dress in a heavier fabrication that can carry me through the colder fall; this Anthro one is a heavier material. I need to stalk it too, because it is a few years old in design.

9) REPLACEMENT (14) - Nicer Costume Jewelry (These are by Maru and are so cute!) - I am starting to outgrow some of my Forever21 stuff and it is falling apart and all over the place; I am hoping to invest in one or two nicer (still costume) pieces that aren't too blingy!

10) BONUS (???) - Because we always come across something that we MUST have or need but couldn't anticipate, right? :)

Wish me luck!

PS: I want a red frock :)

I love the booties in #8, where are they from? Your shopping list looks gorgeous.

I'm afraid I can't really help on finding that specific heartbreaker dress (it's gorgeous though!), but the Fall 2013 Heartbreaker collection has a similar green plaid dress: http://heartbreakerfashion.com.....olive.html If you wait, Blame Betty (http://blamebetty.com/) might stock it for convenience (Canadian, free returns, pretty cheap shipping). Cheers!

Ooh, I can't believe those are Docs. How fab. Fingers crossed for a rescue remedy!

Also crossed for the plaid sheath and those booties and the plaid blazer. Gorgeous pieces. Okay the yummy belts too!

Great list. Here's wishing you luck with it. Assume you are sorted for outerwear and layering pieces?

I like your process lyn.  You inspire me with your planning and great sense of individual style.  I would love to see you in a plaid dress with lace up booties; how feminine and sassy!

The dress in #3 and the booties in #8 are gorgeous! Can't wait to see what you find!!!

Your list sounds very well thought out.  I wish you luck in finding everything you want.

Fabulous. All of these are so perfectly you. I especially love the teal belt and tartan dresses. I have been looking for tartan pieces myself but I haven't found the one that begs me to bring it home yet.

Early fall is my favorite time of year too it seems that designers put more effort into winter/fall collections. There is so much eye candy about!

What a great list. Every thing is beautiful .  That red, plaid jacket is to die for. Well, everything else is too, really.   Lyn, please consider getting your pumps whether they go on sale or not.  You love them, you will wear them.  If you have to cut back on something else  ( not food !  LOL ), then so be it.

Also, regarding Kate Middleton's dress.  Are you sure it is the dress you want and not the Prince and the private jet ?  ; )

Love this idea! Although the seasons don't change drastically in my locale, I'd still like to incorporate seasonal must have to refresh and replenish :)

  • Mo replied 10 years ago

Nice list!  I am still in summer mode since I'm going back to FL.  I like looking at all your lovely fall goodies, though.

  • Kristin L replied 10 years ago

    Good luck Lyn!

  • rachylou replied 10 years ago

Nice! I'm esp. on board with the plaid :)

  • Lisa replied 10 years ago

This is a great list.  Since I am on team always cold, toppers are always a big focus for me.  Do you have enough warm sweaters (or cardigan or turtlenecks) to layer with your dresses when it gets cold?

  • Ingunn replied 10 years ago

You always pick the loveliest of dresses. Good luck hunting them down!

@ Ramya - Aren't they darling? They're really comfortable too! These are Borns :)

@ Tayleigh - You enabler! I will have to check out that site. Dress911 (out of London, ON also carries Heartbreaker!) The booties are Born. :)

@ Mandipia - I am all sorted for outerwear - I have a new beige trench, and I love my cobalt trench from last year; I also have a black ponte jacket, and the military Zara one (needs a new button). I have a winter parka in brown, too!

@ Cocolion - A plaid dress and lace up boots sounds fab!

@ Hil - When I can afford McQ I'll let you know ;)

@ Sara - Thanks! And half of the enjoyment is the thrill of the chase!

@ Day Vies - I think you could totally rock some tartan too! :)

@ Isabel - I am considering the pumps; they are on 10% sale right now, which really isn't a lot. I know I will wear them a ton, though. Food is optional, right? I already have a friend who can stand in as a Prince Wills. No jet.

@ Joi - Some people think I don't have seasons either, but I make myself have seasons! :P

@ Mo - I can't imagine how sweaty and hot it is down there!

    @ Kristin & Rachy - Thanks! :)

@ Lisa - I have a large chest full of cardigans, I don't like turtlenecks so I have one basic black one :) Should be ok.

@ Ingunn - Thanks! I try to pick ones I would like to wear :)
