WIW x5: Airplanes, Blueberries, Cities and a Dud...

Technically only four outfits this week - I had a night of call; so it's a jammy day today and I really need to get to sleep ... but I got a little OCPD and was angry with the formatting of photos, so I had to pull out the old PowerPoint and manually adjust things. :) My "tolerance of discomfort" is low today.

Outfit #1 - In which a patient tried to name all the airplanes on my skirt instead of answering the questions and paying attention to therapy - I enjoyed the flying theme - peacock feathers and an airplane skirt! I may have to rethink this skirt for longer sessions, especially if people are starting to ask why the F14 is on the skirt and why SeaKings are under-representated :p May be a clinic skirt only. - Blazer: RW&Co, Top, Earrings: SmartSet, Skirt, Necklace: ModCloth, Belt: Vintage Burberry, Pumps: Le Chateau, Watch: Fossil

Outfit #2 - Bouncing blueberries with pink cardigan (YLF suggested!) - I am getting a lot of use out of this dress which is surprising to me because of the fabrication (it's really a party dress), but I really love it! And bouncing blueberries make me happy! - Cardigan: Forever21, Dress: Betsy Johnson, Belt: Vintage Burberry, Necklace: Le Chateau, Earrings: RW&Co, Pumps: Naturalizer, Watch: Fossil

Outfit #3 - Bouncing blueberries with the "Blackberry" coat - Cheating a bit; I already shared this! Love the coat. I get strange looks when I leave it hanging where everyone else hangs up their jackets though, so it may need to live in my locked office. *sigh* - Same sources as #2 - Trench: Gift

Outfit #4 - The City of Night dress for a night shift sounded fitting :) - Tons of compliments, as per usual for this dress. I didn't really like it with the darker cardigan though, it's too wintery for my light shoes. I didn't really wear the cardigan much at work, anyway. +30C out today and our A/C was on the fritz. Someone complimented me on my deltoids. LOL. Cardigan: Ricki's, Dress: Maggie Suiz, Belt: Vintage Burberry, Earrings: Ruche, Pumps: Naturalizer, Watch: Fossil

Outfit #5 - "There is something going on here that I like." - From a patient who doesn't like anything. Ever. Even pumpkin pie, she turns her up nose at. I guess something is going on right here then!! - Cardigan: Ricki's, Blouse: Dorothy Perkins, Dress: Anthropologie, Belt: Vintage Burberry, Pumps: Naturalizer, Earrings: RW&Co, Watch: Fossil

Outfit #6 - Oooooooh boy. - I took a look at some Pinterest outfits and thought that a chambray shirt would be SUCH A GOOD IDEA. No. I think it's terrible. But I thought I'd share anyway. Wouldn't wear this out of the house. Thanks. - Shirt, Cardigan: Ricki's, Dress: Ruby Belle, Belt: Vintage Burberry, Pumps: Naturalizer

Bonus #7 - I love my little zippy wallet - I've used it every day since I have purchased it, but it's larger counterpart, my Coach Legacy purse, has sat on a shelf. Just to prove it's hard to predict what will get used and what will not! :) I think I'm going to pass on the purse and keep the wristlet!! HAHA. Oh dear. - Dress: Modcloth, Wristlet: Coach

You look fantastic - and now off to sleep with you!

  • cobaltblue replied 10 years ago

I just TOTALLY misread Glory's post, and my eyes almost bugged out. Worst pickup line EHvAH! Now I get it. :)

You look great. The berry outfit is unstoppable, but the others are great too. How did the chambray shirt look without the topper?

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

    Hahaha!

Okay, that "city of night" title just blows my mind with its beauty and brilliance. Love it.

    And the outfit, too.

That is so interesting about the wristlet. I have a (cheapo) version of that and use it a ton, too.

Lyn you are so funny! I love reading your write-ups. And your outfits are, as usual, fantastic. I like the one with the chambray, for your information. But maybe it doesn't feel right to you, so that's that. Hilarious about the under-represented planes.

  • donnat replied 10 years ago

Lyn, you have some of the cutest outfits. You look gorgeous.

I don't think you should give up on the chambray -- maybe the dress itself is not getting you any more!

Love the cityscape one. So pretty. And I would love to track down the plane fabric!

Thanks ladies :3 After my neighbor stopped moving house, I had a good sleep...

    @ Glory - Zzzzzz.

@ Cobaltblue - it looks rather dreadful. It's a soft fabric which is nice, but the colour simply washes me out. I'm not really a pastel person. I need my strong tones, I think. BOUNCING BLUEBERRIES!

@ Suz - Actually, I picked this one up for pretty cheap. It was only about $20 on megaclearance at the Coach Outlet - I think it was because the clasp was broken, but I thought my dad could fix it. On the way home, it snapped back into place and works wonderfully ever since :)

@ JulieJohn - I read that as "underrepresented panties" - and I was thinking hmm. I always wear panties. What does she mean? I guess i Need sleep :p

    @ Donnat - Thanks! :3

@ Ceit - I love this dress! I want to wear it all the time, like my bouncing blueberries! The plane dress came from Modcloth and was "exclusive" so I am not sure if you'll be able to find the fabric :(

All of them are darling! I especially love the deep rich red color of that cardigan! (I've been looking for cardigans in that color and plum)  It looks so good in #4 with the graphic black and white print.  Lovely as always Lyn.

I love all your fabulous dresses! Seriously cannot pick a favorite. And can I say I just love the peanut gallery comments too... So hilarious.

I am not a fan of chambray either... It's just so dull and neutral and lacks the texture of denim.

Great outfits, and great titles! Love that bouncing blueberry dress on you. And that city night skirt is just stunning on you! Fun that your patients are commenting on your clothes. Mine do too...it's a great source of entertainment for them especially when I'm rounding on them for multiple days. I think I'd like #6 better without the chambray shirt underneath...I'm just not a fan of shirts under dresses and I think the light blue washes you out. You've got your uniform honed to a science...whenever I see cardigan over flared skirt I think of you! Great week...get some sleep!
