WiW: Why Fix What Isn't Broken? Anthro Formula!

Thank you for being patient with my indulgent fashion experimentation in the last little bit; I appreciate all of your help and suggestions to fine tune my personal style!

I have been thinking about it and the best cost per wear and happiness per wear for me has definitely been the second hand Anthropologie market. I can find the quality I want and the quirky prints I so delight in for a fraction of the original (and rather unaffordable) price. I love the lovely cottons and the silk blends that are colourful and the textural elements so fun!

I also find that the "Anthro Formula" has really simplified my morning routine and I have been happy with the results. I rarely have that second guessing issue that I do have elsewhere.

Some of my favorites for today! A few teaching sessions and then lunch out with my residency year!

And I painted my toenails. Teehee!

You do the Anthro formula so well. I like the sandals. I don't know that I've seen you wear sandals so much, but they're great!

Brilliant realization lyn! Wear what makes you happy and this outfit is the perfect example.

Yes, there you go, you have a formula that works for you and a preferred kind of item to use in your formula -- awesome, as you don't have to look all over the place unless you want to.

    Great formula and fab outfit!

I love this formula on you lyn. It so works.

That belt looks great with the dress.

Love ... that belt is so versatile.

I always wonder where you find all your dresses lyn! I figured you bought most of them on line. So do you just know your Anthro size and look for them on Ebay? Your dresses are charming, and this one is no exception. I'm glad you zeroed in on what was working for you. I love that these are nice natural fibers and blends too, very smart for Summer. :)

I'm glad! I read something a few days ago where it almost seemed you were thinking you had to change your style, get more serious? You should, of course, do whatever you want, but I for one would love to see a doctor show a sense of fun! I think it makes you much more approachable than someone dressed all business and serious.

    But Anthro second hand? Spill!

    Great formula, beautiful outfit!

Thanks! It was a lovely day today, and I wasn't bothered by my pee belly.

@ Rachy - This is the first time I had pulled them out this year (I've owned them for about 4 years) - because I needed to replace the soles and they have been done now :)

@ Claire - I just have "Anthropologie dress 4" saved as one of my favorite search terms and eBay emails me with all the new goodies.

@ Peri - I don't know if "More Serious" is exactly where I want to head, maybe more polished?

Positively divine. I love the shot of coral with black and white. I am so glad you used a brown belt and introduced a warm neutral instead of a basic black belt. This outfit makes me very happy!

Lyn you look gorgeous and I think your formula works so well for you.

  • lyn67 replied 10 years ago

    OMG, Yes! Why?????
(BTW you look fab in your pretty dresses, as always....and that necklace!!!sigh:-)))

  • Hil replied 10 years ago

You have such a fine tunes style imo and it so works for you! You look lovely!

  • goldenpig replied 10 years ago

What is the Anthro formula? You look great and I love the necklace. You look so pretty in your printed dress, the belt and cardigan and sandals are perfect with them.

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

@ Day Vies - I simply don't have a wide black belt, but regardless, I'm glad you approve anyway :)

    @ Deborah - Thanks! :)

@ Other Lyn - It's rapidly becoming my favorite necklace! AND THEY ARE SEEDS. SEEDS! AWESOME.

@ Hil - Thanks! I feel much twirly.

@ Natalie - I call it the Anthro Formula gleaned from their catalogues: they usually have a cardigan + structured dress (or a structured blazer with a flowy dress) + funky belt + large statement necklace (+/- funky print on dress). Interesting details are a bonus.
