WiW: Stripes and Dots!!

Dear YLF!

Good morning! An outfit I was really excited to wear today in a colour I do not usually wear: green! Apparently, Taylor Swift also wore this dress (which I found out after I had bought it) so it was always sold out!

What do you all think? Is the colour ok? Is my gut sticking out? :p

I liked the play on stripes and dots... Now it's time for me to find my boots!

You are so fabulous in this outfit! It is cute, fun, relaxed and stylish. Well done! The green is great on you.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

Is your gut sticking out???? ha ha ha ha ha ha.....oh, that's a good one lyn!!!

Love the green with black/white and the stripes and dots are playing so nicely together. Adore this outfit on you!

What Ingunn said. I love your twirly skirts and dresses.
For a moment there I thought my eyes were shot as I was straining to see the polka dots in the dress : )

Your gut is NOT sticking out! It looks adorable on you and love those polka dot legs under it :-) The cute stripes and little black belt help tie together the tights. that's a good shade of green for your hair and for holding its own against black.

    Nicely done!!

    Beautiful! I love the combo!

Great outfit! I love the striped sweater. I'm glad you posted a close up of the tights because I couldn't figure out where the polka dots were at first.

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

Well I second Shannon's reaction regarding your gut, and everybody's reaction about this fab outfit.

I love the dots! When I saw the thumbnail I wondered where are the dots? What a surprise. I love the graphic prints in your sweater and tights with this warm green tone. This is a wonderful inspiration. Thanks for the post!

    Adorable and so much fun!!

Love it! That green is just perfect on you, biased here i love all green! The tights are super cute too.

  • Astrid replied 10 years ago

Cute outfit! Great dress and I love the green color. I never wore green in the past, but since last year I'm a fan. Your pattern mixing is great! And I'm jealous of your polka dot tights (mine were ripped and I haven't found a replacement yet). You look fabulous! :)

Skater Girl! You look as adorable as ever almost-birthday-girl.

    I like the colour :)

LOVE the dots and stripes! Great outfit and I can see why you were excited to wear it! That combo of the green with the black and white is fab.

What type of boots? Tall or short?

  • Shu replied 10 years ago

    I love the whole ensemble!

  • rute replied 10 years ago

    Gorgeous! Love!

  • Diana replied 10 years ago

So cute! I love the color and shape of the green dress.

Must remember the stripes/dots for next time I wear my leprechaun dress.

  • replied 10 years ago

Great colour - love the stripes and dots together.

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Very pretty, and I really love the pin dot tights! The dress looks like it drapes perfectly over the dreaded pooch area, which I know well even on slim gals. The cardi is the perfect completer piece.

  • amyreh replied 10 years ago

So much fun! Love the dotted tights and stripes together. Very flattering too.

  • Ornella replied 10 years ago

Oh, the title drew me in and the content is just delicious! Fab outfit Lyn, probably my all time favorite on you, I like you in these strong green and dramatic black + adventurous pattern mixing. Happy birthday!!!

  • cheryl replied 10 years ago

Awesome! Love the color, the dots and the stripes :)

  • goldenpig replied 10 years ago

Stripes and dots, I love that combo. So playful and cheery with the green twirly dress. This look is very you.

Oh Lyn, what gut? If you really want to see a gut sticking out, have look at my WIW's! ;P

  • citygirldc replied 10 years ago

So cute and adorable and you are too. Love the outfit.

  • JuneBug replied 10 years ago

Love the dots and stripes! The green is a favorite shade and it looks gorgeous on that dress. I don't see any gut at all and think this is a very cute look!

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

So cute! No gut insight ..as if you had one. This is a pretty color and shape on you.

  • Raisin replied 10 years ago

Lovely color and great pattern mixing. No gut in sight!

  • JR replied 10 years ago

    What a wonderful combination!

    Gut? Surely you jest.

For a moment I thought you already had shoes on. My feet are so square that pointy shoes are just torture, and I'm just not used to seeing that kind of profile when I look down. ;o)

  • replied 10 years ago

Ha, JR, me too! My parents affectionately call me duck feet because my feet are basically square along my toes. I always thought I must look like the witches in Roald Dahl's book when I wear socks! :)

Thanks ladies~ the outfit was an interesting conversation starter with a few of my patients today (one person suggested I wear the green dress with a Christmas sweater).

@ Christy - Tall brown boots; so my shins don't get cold! -10 today!

@ Astrid - The tights are from a children's store ($2.99 tights, I can't say no!) - and I bought quite a few pairs just in case they rip!

    @ Natalie - :P That's not gut if you're preggers!
