WiW: New top! Not a dress!!!

Seriously!!! No dress today??? What is the world coming to???!!! :p

I thought I would branch out a little bit, so I got a top in classic colours with a twist and peplum! It is more expensive than I usually spend on a top (several, actually) but feels quite nice on!

I hope you guys like it: any styling suggestions for peplum tops to share?

Pic 3 is a bonus hair update! Lol!

Much love,

Lyn

    Love the top. What pattern is it, dots or just odd shapes? Either way, love! I especially like it with the blue belt and pink cardi. You hair look great as well!

    Love your new top! Pretty, versatile, and feminine. I also love your lips with the pink sweater!

    Congrats on the top, it looks lovely! Not sure about the cardi though. I mean, the colour complements the top really well, but it covers the peplum in an unflattering way (probably because of the pockets) and doesn't do it any justice, which is shame because peplums were designed to draw attention to the waist. How about trying it on with a crop cardi/jacket? Or a regular length jacket or cardi, but heavy-weight fabric which would create sharper contrast to the frilly peplum. Hope this helps. I like your hair! :)

    I like! Can we see it on it's own without a belt or jacket?

    I love the way you've styled it with the belt. I was looking for inspiration, thanks!

    Oh my, such a cute top! I too would like to see it without a sweater.

    I love it all! Digging the new hair length - that's about the length I want to go to. :D

    Love your new top! And you look so pretty in pink.

    Pretty new top. I like peplum's with slim skirt as you did here and slim trousers or jeans. A belt always looks lovely to exaggerate the peplum style.

    This is super cute. I love the texture of your printed blouse. The color scheme is divine and I love this look. (I'll be using this as an inspiration :-)

    Thanks ladies, the outfit was a hit at work - only one snide comment about the lack of scrubs, and other people tried to figure out if it was a set or if I had paired the top and bottom together (they're separates) - also, I lost a glove today. *SIGH* :(

    @RunnerRae - it's sort of like smeared dots, almost... like the ink wasn't quite dry :)

    @RabbitHeart - thanks for your input! I will try it without the cardigan when the weather warms up a little - it is quite wintery right now and I try to stay warm. I will try to add more cropped cardigans and blazers to my wardrobe, but I haven't come across any that tickle my fancy (sigh) :)

    @Modgirl/Celt - next time I wear it, I'll snap a pic :)

    Lyn, that top reminds me of a DVF outfit that I love. It's very sweet with the pink and blue! And love your sweet face. (-:

    Love it lyn* -- the coloring of your cardi is really flattering, and your hair is very sassy! I like what I can see of the peplum :)

    Cute separates, Lyn! Oh, that blouse is gorgeous on you. That's exactly how I like to wear peplums these days.

  • goldenpig replied 11 years ago

    Oooh! Love! Cute peplum top and the pink looks great on you! The blue belt is a great accent too. Your hair and makeup are so pretty! I love seeing your wonderful smile too!

    Very cute! I know you don't wear pants/jeans much these days, but I could so see this little top with denim and heels for a nice weekend day out and about. Or wide leg trousers. You might also be able to layer it over some of your dresses to change up the "skirt" bit. How does it look without the belt? :}
