WiW: Last Call of the Year! Bonus LOL!

Dear YLF,

Last call of the year and I decided to reprise one of my favorites! I am still undecided on the specs and I have gotten mixed reviews today; I am starting to feel they belong in a Vogue Hipster shoot more than my regular life (but do I want my life to be a Vogue hipster shoot?)

Last pic is for LOL. How tired I am after processing admissions and an acute stroke. Lol. 1:30 am and time for dinner!

Cheers,
Lyn

Love that necklace...would love to see a close up of it. It's the little touches, like the necklace and belt, that always make your outfits look like YOU.
As for the specs, I think geek and hipster chic looks MUST be worn with 100% confidence, otherwise you can wind up second guessing yourself. To my eye, they are a bit of a hipster look, but they're cute, so who cares? If you don't love them though, that's the kicker.
As always, so impressed with how you look so stylish when you're so tired. xoxo

Yes, like Atlantia said, tired but stylish. She also has a great point about your specs. Love your necklace and cardi.

Lyn, you look pretty amazing for being so tired. I love that stripey cardigan. I also love your new glasses. They don't look shockingly geeky to me at all, and they seem to be flattering on your face. So you have the rest of the year off now? Nice!

I think you look really good in those specs, but then I'm not the coolest person on my block, so please take that with a grain of salt.

Excellent cardigan, I am loving it. Are the sleeves elbow-length or did you push them up? Looks really good, either way. I must remember that trick because it shows off the forearms, a part of my body which I am not ashamed of baring.

Your outfit was elf-inspired and looks fab :)

You are so cute, even at 1:30 am! I really like the striped sweater with the green. Festive but not in your face Christmassy, you know?

And I love the glasses, but then again I am an unabashed fan of hipster glasses.

@ Atlantia - The necklace is a piece of rock - a druzy pendant - I think that's what they're called; I just included a stock photo. Every piece is different, so mine is more round :) I like it, it's shiny and sparkly in a rough-edgy way!

@ Claire - I definitely have the rest of the year off! I can't wait! I technically can be called in on the 31st, but then it is double pay, so they never do ;)

@ Julie - I squish all my sleeves up this much, because I don't like them dragging in things (especially at the hospital!) and like you, I like my forearms! This cardigan is a 3/4 sleeve, and I just scrunched it up a bit. I do this also with my full-length cardigans as well!

@ Diana - I was going to wear my red blazer ... LOL. jk.

I really like your fit and flair green dress! I'm sure the skirt swishes beautifully when you walk. The stripes in your sweater fall in such a way that they highlight your figure very nicely. There's also a neat contrast between the softer, rounded contours of the draping skirt, and the sharp definition of the black and white stripes. Your necklace is just the right length and size to be having a meaningful conversation with the belt (as opposed to having them glaring daggers, or pretending not to know each other!). Also loving the subtle honey shade of the glasses. The color allows them to be a soft frame for your features, with a stylistic nod in the Vogue Hipster direction. Chic and pretty, I think!

When I worked my night shifts - in pediatrics - I rocked a polyester nurses' uniform, a white sweater, support hose, scary white shoes, and a gorgeous big green surgical gown over it all! Stylin'! You do it MUCH better!

@ Robinesque - You are too sweet! I did throw a white coat over my outfit when I go down to the ER - sometimes it's nice being recognized as staff rather than a nosy visitor combing through the patient charts!

  • Atlantia replied 11 years ago

Thanks for including the picture, Lyn. Gorgeous necklace...I will be on the lookout for something similar for myself. Thanks for the inspiration!

Atlantia - I dunno if you're a Canuck - but I think it was on mega clearance at RW&Co. :)

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

You look terrific for someone with almost no sleep! And seasonally appropriate, too. :-)

  • Gaylene replied 11 years ago

Well, if I had to be in ER and I saw you in that outfit, I'd feel better just looking at you. Even at 1:30 in the morning, you manage to look pretty amazing.

  • Mo replied 11 years ago

You and those twirly dresses are a perfect match!

  • lyn* replied 11 years ago

@Gaylene - I did have one patient say to me, "Seeing your kind smile and getting to talk to you is enough for one night, I'm going home."

That or the sandwich I gave him did the trick. LOL. I think it was the sandwich.

You look so cute in your outfit. Even when tired! When I am tired, look out! haha

I think the specs are cool. I would like to see them with less vertical height, not so far down on your cheeks.

your life is already a vogue photo shoot so why not have the glasses.
