WiW: Academic Plaid (ETA: Plaid Pics!)

Yay! New med students! I thought I would celebrate their academic achievement with some pretty plaid!

The lady who sold me this dress told me that if I wore it to work I need a shirt under it. I find this advice amusing. Lol. Yes!!!!

Does this work?

  • Cardigan: Forever 21
  • Top: Dynamite
  • Dress, Belt: Anthropologie
  • Pumps: Naturalizer
  • Necklaces: Modcloth
  • Watch: Fossil
ETA: I found some stock images for an ebay seller who is selling the same dress; it's so old that Anthro doesn't have pics anymore. Boourns :p But I still love it. It has pockets - aweeeeesooomeeee!

Pretty dress, looks nice layered with the shirt.

The shirt looks good layered under the dress. I can't really tell it's plaid though - the pictures are little dark and the dress looks black to me. I like the cardigan to add more color to the outfit.

I think the layered shirt looks cute! Yes, she may have been right, that dress could have been a tad low for work...especially if you're bending over a patient!

I want a closeup of the plaid - it's hard to see on my screen.  Great outfit!

So cute! I love the way you have mixed patterns and color. That's one of the things I'm working on.

You look terrific and celebratory.  I'm sure they'd prefer seeing a supervising Doc dressed like this, rather than severely.

Glad she pointed that out for you. :)

Cute outfit! I can't see the plaid either, though.

I can't see the plaid wither, but the outfit looks super cute!

Ok. Maybe too casual. They asked if they can go home. It is 11:30. No. You cannot go home.

Fun and lovely. Really like the shirt layered underneath!

Hmm, do you have a power blazer handy? Time to ditch the cardigan, sounds like!

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

    Hahaha. Red blazer time!!!

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

I like it a lot, Lyn. Super fun pattern mix and layering. And it does look professional.

Gorgeous professional yet and chic youthful look. Great belt and print setting off the dress. So funny sales associate.

Ditto the suggestion for jacket instead of cardi on take-me-seriously day.

This poly blouse is driving me crazy, the straps of the dress are sort of sliding off when I walk fast - mental note to layer carefully with this top!
