WiW: A midi and a peplum?

I saw this on Pinterest (lol) last night and thought I'd make a go at it: what do you guys think of this? It would solve the high waist problems that happens sometimes! :)

I think you look cute but I can't tell that it's a peplum.  I don't know if it's because of the dark colours or if it's my swollen allergy eyes!

It's cute, I like the peplum over the midi. My only hitch is to me, the blazer looks too long.

Agree with Ceit, the overall look is very ladylike but the blazer is swamping you.

I love the top over the skirt but the blazer is too long. The idea is perfection though.

I think it looks great. But like the others gave said, the blazer is making it a little difficult to see the peplum.

Is that a Starfleet pin?! (Can we be best friends?)

ETA: Also, I really like your outfit! Sorry, got really excited.

The top and skirt look great. Nicely proportioned. The blazer looks nice from the front, but way too long from the side. Try a shaped jacket the same length as the top or a little shorter?

I like it. Fab, sophisticated pattern mixing! I guess I do agree that the blazer is on the long side, but not that big a deal in my book.

Thanks for posting this Lyn, I was actually going to ask a much the same thing!

Yeah, what Erica said. That Starfleet pin was the first thing I noticed. :-)

Haha; it sure is a Starfleet pin - it's a JJ Abrams era "Starfleet Medical" pin!!!!

@ Erica - OF COURSE WE CAN BE BEST FRIENDS.

Another Trekkie here --- Star Trek (original) was my Sesame Street.  Not kidding.  I asked for a Tribble for my 5th birthday.

Love this on you, Lyn.  I would suggest swapping out the blazer for another that's slightly more fitted and a little shorter.  The peplum with midi and under a jacket is a great idea!
