WiW: 9.22 - Midis that are toooo long!!

A quick run out for groceries: but this was an outfit I nearly had forgotten about, mostly because it was not exciting and the skirt is too long.

I want to chop it so I don't have to wear it so high up. Any ideas?

  • Cardigan: Ricki's
  • Top: Smart Set
  • Skirt: Dorothy Perkins
  • Belt: Burberry Vintage
  • Pump: Le Chateau
ETA: NO cutting for now, but I'll have to play with the proportions a bit :3 Thanks!

I don't think it looks bad worn like this -- Zara is bringing out high waisted midis and I like the look. You certainly have the figure for it!

It looks pretty like this, Lyn! But if you want to chop it, go to the length you prefer. I would just be careful to notice where the pattern lies. I think you probably want to end on a lighter portion vs. one of the stripes.

    Don't chop. Keep. Looks gorgeous.

I agree! It's not too long and the shoes are perfect!

This might be a tricky alteration due to the volume of the skirt. And I do like how you styled it. Do you think it would limit the use you would make of it if you let it as is?

What? That's not too long. It looks nice!

I feel you -- the high waist on some midis are hard to work around but I usually wear a fitted top with them untucked and belted. OR I wear low contrast fitted top. I have this round tummy and an invisible torso so this problem is the bane of my existence. I have also hidden a high waistline with a jacket, wide belt and a top to match the belt so that the belt visually extends the tucked in top.

Hmm, I like the length you have it here.  I'm thinking that it sounds like what you really want to do is chop it off from the top, right?  But that's a much harder alteration.  Maybe Day Vies' suggestions for how to hide the high waist are a better way to go.
