WiW 6.17 - A Dress on the Straight and (Kinda) Narrow

Super big hurry today because someone (me) can't read a clock properly! RUN!

I thought that after the discussion about fits and flares yesterday, I'd try something straighter today!

Well, after hour one my shins are on fire. I usually can run in wedges for the subway but the shuffle in a straight skirt? Definitely leg muscles I have not used in a very long time!!

I swapped to black patent pumps at work. One of my patients thought that the pattern looked like googly eyes. No comments so far on lack of flare from anyone.

Hehe. It's a very Lyn* pattern (interesting/out of the ordinary), but I'm sorry the skirt caused your legs pain. I like my sheaths/pencils with a walking slit or stretch to avoid this.

Random: You know about ModCloth, right? Most of their dresses are too short, but you can read the measurements on each dress and find some that are long enough. I think of you when I see all the prints. Lots of fit 'n' flares, too.

Great dress. I love this style on you.

What a gorgeous dress lyn - have we seen this one before?

  • replied 9 years ago

I really like this style on you too!

@ Alasse - it's a running joke at work that they directly send my paycheque to Anthropologie and ModCloth on alternating weeks!!! :) I love ModCloth stuff - they have a Longer Lengths section. Lately a lot of their dresses are too cutesy (even for me!) My most recent purchases I've attached.

@ Angie/Ceit - I'm glad you like this style! I found out how to run stairs; gotta push those knees up!

    Or walk slowly. xo

That's such a cute dress lyn! Love the neckline!!!!

  • lyn* replied 9 years ago

No time to walk slowly!!! :) When I gotta go I gotta get to where I'm going!!!

Great pattern and silhouette! Can you add a slit in the back if there isn't one already? When you say googly eyes, all I can think of is the Christopher Walken skit on SNL :)

  • Kristin L replied 9 years ago

Eek! I hope your legs are feeling better. Does that dress have a walking slit? If not, you may want to add one. The dress looks great, though. It's a fun pattern.

*Googles How to Add Slit to Dress* :)

You do have the best dresses. Cute comment about the googly eyes.

I love that dress.  The print, silhouette, all of it.  Yes, put in that slit, and get back to quick stepping!

I love everything about this dress. I also like that you chose brown sandals with this dress. They disappear on your leg and don't disrupt the leg line. Marking as a favorite -- well done Lyn!

  • Jaime replied 9 years ago

Lyn you have your own signature style and it works wonderfully for you. That said I really love this dress!

Just coming back to add Shabby Apple. I don't know where they ship, but everything has decent length.
