WiW: 1.31 - Happy Chinese New Year! McQ Inspired!

Red dresses are not a standard in my closet by far - this orphan has been very difficult to style, but as it was the only red option, I guess it is time to come out and play!

I picked this dress up because the pleats and the peplum remind me of that Alexander McQ dress, but I think if I had sleeves on this dress like that one does, it would be more versatile.

There is something off about this; tried a bunch of belts and toppers and nothing seemed to really work.

Regardless, happy new year!

First, wow!  That shade of red is fabulous on you.  Is the blazer navy?  I like it a lot.

You look stunning in your "column of red". I do not think you need a belt here as the peplum style gives you lovely waist definition all on its own. I think the jacket you have chosen works well with the dress. Love the graphic interest of the dotty cuffs. Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year, Lyn!! I hope you have some (delicious) celebrations planned. You look wonderful in the vivid red. Plus equestrian boots for Year of the Horse!

I love this! I don't own much red either though I am always attracted to it. Enjoy!

Happy new year, Lyn!  I am wearing red today too.  I think the dress looks great.  I don't think a belt would work with the peplum but if you wanted a bit more embellishment, maybe a medium length pendant necklace?

Happy New Year. You look divine in this shade of red.

Did you try layering tee shirt to 'add' the sleeves you need so you can wear the dress more often?

Happy New Year. Fab combination. The elbow patches add a playful touch.
