WiW 10.16 - MaryK inspired mustard pencil skirt!

Aha!

Finally found a mustard pencil skirt so I had to pounce!!

It is a bit shorter than my usual skirt length, but most of the other residents (and staff) go shorter around here. I am still not comfortable with this length for work though, but is great for a paperwork and academics day!! Actually, pencil skirts at work are sometimes hard!!

I think it will be fun to play with "for now" until I can find a work appropriate one! I was worried it wouldn't jive with my clothes.

What do you think? I wonder if there is a halogen one in this colour: YLF seems quite fond of that skirt!

It looks just a bit more mustardy than the Halogen yellow raisin skirt. Is there hem that can be let down?

You look great in mustard. I am jealous because it happens to be a colour I love but do not wear well. Although...hmm. In a skirt it could work, right? (goes off plotting...)

    Looks great on you!

It looks wonderful! I didn't know how much I would wear my yellow halogen skirt, but it turns out that that shade goes with so many things...it's almost a neutral :)

Beautiful!  My yellow skirt has been a real wardrobe workhorse!  Like Amy, I have found it goes with almost everything!  I love how you've styled it here!

I love this look Lyn. You look great!

Unless you are opposed to the shorter length for some reason, why not go with it.  You are young and pretty and can easily carry off the look.  I think your outfit looks fab.

All hail the look of mustard and you look great. Yes, this color works with denim, reds, black, prints (as you've shown), etc.

  • Debra replied 10 years ago

    Love it :)

Love it too.  With that print top it looks perfect for your age.

I think the length is great too, but if you are uncomfortable with it then it is too short for you.

    Lovely!  The color is superb.

As for the length, is there  ahem you can let down? It looks at the knee to me, which is a very porfessional length, so I think you are okay as is. Still, you need to be comfortable in it.

Thanks ladies, everyone at work pointed out today I was wearing a shorter skirt - lots of positive comments; but I guess everyone noticed too. Dunno if that is a good thing or not.

There is about a 1" hem; so I suppose I could let it out for an additional 0.5", but it almost seems not worth the effort (I'm lazy).

I'm glad you got compliments on it, because it looks great on you!

This outfit is so cute! I like the way you work the mustard skirt!

  • Alassë replied 10 years ago

I love the way the top, skirt, & belt pair together. Great outfit!

You look great! Love that top.

    This is gorg!

  • pil replied 10 years ago

So fun with that shirt. Any way the waist could be let out so the skirt sits a little lower, or maybe that wouldn't be comfortable?

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

Ah, I like my skirts to sit there :p I don't think I can size up in this skirt without it falling off my bum-bum.

Thanks for the thought, though, Pil! :3
