When only XL is left on the rack ...

Time to bring out the sewing machine!!!

Do we like this top as a peplum? I think the peplum is too long and looks weird.

I bought it to wear tucked in (pic 3) where the peplum isn't a problem.

I can either shorten the peplum or cut it off entirely (crop top) or leave it as is and tuck.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Looks great both ways.  Did you already alter this?  This cannot be XL in pic 2 and 3.  Kudos to you for your super sewing skills!

I took it in about 3-4" total :) I took it in 1" at the sides initially (pic 1) but it was still a sack.

I didn't think you wanted to see a pic with me wearing a sack :p so I didn't take a before.

Thanks Rae - I just sewed in a straight line.

Lol, still better then I would have done!

I bestow my "skills" onto this machine. I swear it's the easiest to use sewing machine. My mom has one of those expensive ones and it makes me want to punch it.

My little $60 machine has saved me at least 3 fold in alterations. I can take a tiny nip tuck in my skirts if I feel like it at 1 am if I want and can wear it the next day! :)

Lol, I'm picturing you punching a sewing machine, that would be funny!

Yes I have a super old one too, and MUCH less complicated than the fancy new ones.  But I have almost zero sewing skills now.

I had so few sewing skills I was asked to leave Home Ec class... so if I can do it, I'm sure you can too :)

    LOL!

Yah, I need a bit of practice.  I do everything by hand these days because I can't remember how to thread the machine!

I really like the peplum. The part that bothers me is the slight rippling over the midriff. Can you get rid of that?

    Great top!

Hmm, I will try. I can put darts in it for room for my boobs.
