So. I have been bad... ETA: Kate Spade Oversold. NOOOOO!

So, it's definitely more than I usually spend on a purse, but I have been looking for a replacement for mine for sometime and haven't found anything really up to snuff.

TADA! Enter the Kate Spade Brighton Park Sloan! :)

My lovely purse now has made me spoiled for leather and beautiful details, and I thought I'd use it until it fell apart -more- because of the lack of better options out there. I have always admired my staff attending's Kate Spade bag, but always thought they were way above my price point... For some reason I thought they also didn't ship to Canada!

But I think I may have found my bag! At least I hope so; because there are no refunds! The reviews on the site seem favourable, so I am quite hopeful. I am in love with the quick-access component of the bag, so I can have my notes at the ready!

PS: I bought it in that dark red oxblood colour instead of the brown - same as my Cambridge Satchel :)

PPS: Okay, now that my budget is COMPLETELY blown, time to sit on my hands until next year!

ETA: Just got the notification that they cancelled my order. Apparently a lot of people on the Kate Spade page have the same problem. Ugh. Sigh. Not meant to be, I suppose. :(

I likey! That's an awesome bag in a lovely color. Her bags are quite nice and they have great sales a few times a year. I was considering a Kate Spade bag as an upgrade for the Kenneth Cole satchel I recently culled, but now I'm obsessed with finding a Brahmin tote.

I love it! I think it's something you'll get a lot of use from and will look fabulous now and for years to come :) SO glad you treated yourself... it definitely says 'Lyn' to me!

That's a beauty, lyn*! In my mind anyone who has worked as hard as you have for your education is totally deserving of something splendid.

Jewell, I really hope you'll find the one for you. I am really hard on bags and my Brahmins look as good as new and have had heavy, nearly everyday use for going on 3 years now. I got one thru eBay (make sure you read seller feedback and check fine print and return policy if you go that route) and the other was from Dillard's :)
    Amen, Pil! She sure does...

I think Dr Lyn should have a doctor bag! Good for you!

It's gorgeous! You have to post pics of it once you get.

Gorgeous holiday present to self, and well-deserved. Will you carry it with the short handles or prefer the long strap?  I always wonder what the best height for that kind of wider bag is to lay against the body. The leather looks so beautiful. I guess it's going to make all your Fossil bags jealous! This one will need its own little throne shelf.

It's beautiful, Lyn! I think it will serve you very well. Enjoy it!

Not bad...very, very good! It's a beautiful bag, and I'm sure you'll get a ton of use out of it.

I think this was a wise purchase and you will enjoy it for years.

  • karymk replied 10 years ago

That for sure is a keeper! Good pick Lyn!

A worthy bag for Dr. Lyn it deserves you.  The red oxblood will play well with your wardrobe... and if things get 'messy' at work, well, no worries ;-)

Beautiful! Plus you know for sure it won't be pining away in your closet. That bag will be working it!

  • Adelfa replied 10 years ago

That's horrible. Can you find it in a store somewhere?

  • peacechick replied 10 years ago

Lyn, have you tried checking the local Kate Spade stores? My Holt Renfrew has one. I bet they can order it for you. Or maybe wait for it to be back in stock. You could get lucky for Boxing Day!

  • Marley replied 10 years ago

Noooooooo!  Aww lyn - so sorry!

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

I'm a Canuck - I don't think we have local Kate Spade stores, but thanks for the suggestions anyway. I gave them a phone call and they told me to order again (like that makes any sense), but it went through and I'm just waiting with fingers crossed for that shipment email!!!

ETA: It looks like we have one in Toronto! :) Land of the Suz.

  • peacechick replied 10 years ago

Lyn, I'm in Montreal and there is a Kate Spade store in our Holt :) but it sounds like the order worked out after all, congrats!

It's gorgeous, Lyn, and I think you deserve it!

  • Kristin L replied 10 years ago

Oh no! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

  • replied 10 years ago

    Double fingers crossed here!

I really hope it works out!  I am living vicariously through you.  I spent a lot of time shopping the online sale but I didn't pull the trigger.  No guts no glory--I hope that glorious bag becomes yours.
