I think I know the answer to this one, but I heard the heel go yesterday and was a bit sad.
And I just put in new gel inserts too! Gah!
Thanks for your input!! :)

Ouch! I think they're done for.
Replace! I think when you replace them, you should buy two pairs the same and rotate through them.
I think those need replacing. Sorry.
Replace! I know you love them, but they're past going. Sorry. :(
Take them to a shoe guy. I've seen worse than this fixed.
If you had replaced the heel tap earlier it might have been better. Now you've worn down the metal.
I think it depends on how much it will cost. If it's more than the shoes are worth, you'll probably be better off replacing. I like Ceit's suggestion of buying 2 pairs (or 1 if you can repair these) and rotate them.
If you know a really talented shoe repairman you may be able to save them. The uppers look ok in these pics.
What Anna said. The leather wrapping on the heel is affected, too.
Ok. Will toss. They are not too hard to replace and I have all winter to try to look for a new pair.
Thanks ;)
These are actually in rotation. Their twins have been tossed.
I think they have paid their due
A good cobbler could probably fix this but it would probably be pricy and might involve slightly shortening the heel. I guess you have to consider how much you love them and how hard they would be to replace.
Ps- look for the exact same style on eBay. I've found exact replacements for some years old items that way, sometimes for cheap.
Oh, I know cobblers can do a lot, but those look pretty done. :-) An excuse to go shoooooopppping!
Time to get a new pair.
If it were just the taps, any shoe repair place can do those cheaply. Mine usually charges around $12. But the leather looks scuffed beyond repair.
I vote replace. There are so many fantastic shoes out there :)
