PPP Pays Off! My perfect green dress is MINE!

After stalking this dress (Maeve Painted Plaid) for a very long time on eBay after I missed it at Anthropologie, I was able to snag this for $70 (thank you seller who mislabeled it!) - and they're willing to ship to Canada for less than an Arm and a Leg! :) I loved it since I saw it on Glee (a very dangeous show for me when it comes to shopping!)

There are -so- many inspirations I found online for adorable outfits that I can't wait to wear it - it is about 40" long (yay), so I'm hoping that Zooey D had it tailored - because I don't think that dress looks nearly 40" long on her :p (or those guys are huge, either or!)

Can't wait!

PS: June's budget may be consumed by these other pretty pretties - #7 I was able to snag for under $30 (thank you, mislabelled/misspelled on eBay), and #8 is not my usual style, but I really love it - and I will need to scheme to get #9 with a friend in Michigan :)

I AM SO EXCITED. I'm so weird, eh?

PS: And as I went to pay - #10 popped up. IN MY SIZE. I have never seen it in my size much less ship to Canada. MIRACLE OF MIRACLES.

    I really like 9!

Great finds, what will the hem length be in the plaid on you? Looks like it varies a lot! :)

  • MsMary replied 10 years ago

Hooray!  Can't wait to see you model it!

@ Ceit - It's kinda quirky, eh? It reminds me of that Kate Vogele song :) - I hope that it will be long on me - it is 40" so that's actually pretty long on me. It will probably be mid-calf or at least knee length.

    :) Thanks MaryK!

I can't believe how many ways you found it being worn already. I think some of them must of hacked the length. It will look great on you!

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

:) Thanks! There's a petite version too! It is 37.5" which looks more like the lengths that I see.

That's a gorgeous dress! Your other finds are great as well, but I can't get over the dress.

  • Peri replied 10 years ago

Love it! How did you find it after seeing it on Glee? I've always thought there should be an app for that!

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

Thanks Kristin! I'm super excited for it :D

    @ Peri - there is! http://fashionofglee.com

eBay shopper extraordinaire! I am glad your patience and persistence paid off!

  • celia replied 10 years ago

YAY, it is so great to have that item we were looking for.
I also like your other pretties :)

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

Yay, that's a great looking dress and different from most we've seen you wear. I'm 5'3" and 40" hits me on the knee. In fact that's the length I look for in dresses.

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

I use this handy dress guide to see where a dress will fall to (I'm 5'7" or so, but if I slouch, I figure I'm 5'6"!! LOL)

    Congrats lyn!

Too funny! I had no idea. Not that I think at 53 I should be shopping for clothes teenage characters wear!

Are there other websites that track TV fashion?

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Congrats! I think Greenglove has this one, too. So pretty on!

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

Peri - I used to love what Emma wears, so there is also these websites - What Would Emma Pillsbury Wear? and Dress Like Emma Pillsbury

This tracks all TV fashion: http://wornontv.net/

    @ Shannon - Thanks!

@ Rae - I will try to track down her WiW! - ETA: Totally the same dress. Hope it looks as rockin' on me as it looks on her!

Yay! I loved it on Jean and can't wait to see it on you! Nice ebay sleuthing!

  • Ingunn replied 10 years ago

Love them all! Great finds for you. My favorite is #9!

  • TraceyLiz65 replied 10 years ago

Your enthusiasm is contagious!  Love it and can't wait to see it on you!

  • Lyn D. replied 10 years ago

I am glad you have found this lovely dress in your size!
Look forward to your version of it.

BTW you enabled me to buy the Hilda shirtdress I originally saw on a previous post :)

  • jurocha replied 10 years ago

Congrats on the purchase! Plus many, many thanks on the inspiration pictures: I loved the 4 and 5 options! 1 is also pretty nice, but it would require a huge go-out-of-comfortable zone for me (winter coats shorter than the pieces they layers is a look I don't dare... yet)

I am excited for you too! And curious to see the pics of you modeling the beauty.

Lovely finds! Congrats! Let's see them out to play :-)

  • Mochi replied 10 years ago

OMG that is a great dress, and it's not even typically a style I'd connect with. Love the color, the pattern, the cut, the versatility. I am loving ZD's styling of it and can't wait to see your WIWs with this.

  • kkards replied 10 years ago

oh, the shopping gods were certainly with you.
and thanks for the links on tv fashion, who knew?

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

@ Natalie - thanks! I love the sluthing and the illusive countdown :p It's pretty addicting, but my buddy and I keep each other honest ;)

@ Other Lyn - Oooh, I can't wait to see you wear it! I need some shirt dresses!

@ Jurocha - I find that the look works the best if the "flare" of your coat matches the flare of your skirt - or the coat is light enough to shape to the skirt, if that makes sense :)

@ Harmonica - I can't wait for them to come! It will still be a 2 week wait :(

@ Mochi - Me too! I didn't think I'd love it ... but I saw it and I was smitten!

@ Kkards - I've definitely google searched for stuff I've seen on TV :p
