K/R: Kate Spade, Round Two

Well, at least I can zip it up this time! The last size 4 Kate dress was sooooo tight around the boobs it was insane (luckily my sister loved it!)

I am leaning towards a keep for this one, but I thought I would seek my YLF blessings first!

Sweet frock. I like it too.

Lyn, I always wonder how you wear these very Summery dresses during a Canadian Winter. I know you layer a little and wear tights, but still - I would freeze. In the heated indoors too. You have a lot more resistance to cold weather than I do. I'm glad you can make your much loved frock style work year round.

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

Oh! I actually find it warm enough in the hospital: it usually is pretty warm here because the patients are wearing gowns and are ill.

On the outside, I do wear a big parka and two scarves. On a day like today I wear two hoods and a toque. In addition, I wear ski pants that are rated to -50C.

    It's a bit of a hassle, sometimes!

Oh; and no exposed skin with metal, so earrings out!

Oh, wow! I'd like to see your commuting outfit one of these days. The dress looks amazing - glad it fits this time!

  • pil replied 10 years ago

I missed the other thread, love the dots and ruffles on this!

  • Laura (rhubarbgirl) replied 10 years ago

    Really cute!

  • AviaMariah replied 10 years ago

So cute and good for you for making what you love to wear work even in the freezing cold!

  • Alassë replied 10 years ago

Absolutely wonderful on you; must keep! And it's polka dots. ;)

  • Thistle replied 10 years ago

Such a cute dress!  I would love to see a picture of your commuting style!

Our office is a freezer year round!  Ice cold all summer and arctic all winter!

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

Haha. Trust me. No one wants to see "commuter style".

  • E replied 10 years ago

It's very flattering & very Lyn! & I'm curious about how you wear 2 scarves. Your commuting outfit sounds very clever though. :)

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

I have a square scarf I fold into a triangle like a bandit. Then I have a thick wool one I wrap in a circular fashion around my neck.

  • Shirley replied 10 years ago

    Very sophisticated. Definitely keep.

  • shedev replied 10 years ago

    Love it on you.

  • Marley replied 10 years ago

This dress is really cute on you!  I am amazed to here about your commuter outfit.  Just makes me cold to think about it!  (And, what is a toque?)

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

    A toque.

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

Aha. So you commute in arctic gear - now that makes sense. As does the fact that hospitals are warm because patients are wearing gowns. Thanks for clearing up what now makes sense.

  • Marley replied 10 years ago

Hahaha!  Love the "Crazy Canuck!"  My husband is Canadian, so I can especially appreciate it.  ;-)
So, a toque is a stocking cap?

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

    @ Marley - I suppose .... I don't know what a stocking cap is :p

  • Kristin L replied 10 years ago

I think it looks great on you!

  • Aubergine replied 10 years ago

That dress is adorable and looks seriously great on you!

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

You SO need a down skirt.  They zip all the way down the side so you can wear it right over a skirt or dress or pants.

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

OOOOH. DOWN SKIRT. Canada Goose has one! :D

  • MRL replied 10 years ago

Adorable dress, Lyn. You look great!

  • celia replied 10 years ago

I like this dress on you a lot.

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

The dress is lovely on you. In this area hospitals are freezing cold inside all year. If I visit someone, I bundle up. They say it is to help control germs, but just sitting chills me to the bones.

  • ManidipaM replied 10 years ago

    Very flattering little frock.

I too am amazed and a little twrrifiwd of your outdoor gear. Brrr!

I'm cold in a cardigan indoors at 25C, heh! And wearing a fleece robe to bed at 10. Hospitals here are stuffy and chilly on the same ward at the same time. Ugh.

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

There is about a 4 ft by 4 ft square in the charting room that is SO COLD. I think it must be at least a 20 degree difference. No one ever sits in that corner.

  • Dee replied 10 years ago

I love the ruffle on the top of this dress. So cute!
Do you know if tightness in the chest is generally an issue with Kate Spade? I've mostly bought handbags from them, but I tried on a coat a few weeks ago and it was ok in the waist but pretty tight in the chest, and I'm an A cup.

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

@ Dee - sorry, I didn't see your reply until now; I don't think it is an issue, but I've only tried on three Kate Spade dresses. I am a TTS in two, and that one was just teeeeeeenytiny up top - it fits my sister beautifully, and she is an A cup too.

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

It is a beautiful dress, Lyn. My only concern would be that armholes look to be  too high but maybe it is just a picture.
(I cannot stand too high and snug armholes :-) )

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

    @ Sveta - That's just my arm pudge. :p

  • replied 10 years ago

Late to chime in - but soooo cute!

  • Angela K replied 10 years ago

The dress is beautiful on you and pudge is not a word I would use to describe you in any way. Not with that impossibly tiny waist. :)
