Keep/Sell? Big Print Wrap Dress!

Picked up this dress for a song! Thought I would always be able to resell it for a nice price if I didn't like it. I don't usually wear wraps...

I think I like it. It's a nice fabrication and pretty summery. It has sleeves and can accommodate a belt (yay for hanging ID and pagers!)

What do you ladies think?

  • Earrings: Anthropologie
  • Dress: No tags ... but I have suspicions...
  • Belt: Eva Franco
  • Flats: Sam Edelman
  • Watch: Bulova

I quite like it.   But know that I'm a sucker for blue and white.

It looks woven - is it?  I don't think I've ever come across a woven wrap dress in person.   I'd love to see it without the belt, but totally understand the need to accommodate your work necessities.

I like it. Nice length and although the print is larger than many you wear, I don't find out overwhelming on you. Very professional, polished look and there might be ways to make it more casual as well by varying footwear. Like the blue and white.

I really like it for you. It's a slight departure from your other dresses but still seems quite you. That neckline is very flattering. Great print. Fun but sophisticated, and perfect for work. I say keep!

I think it's a cotton blend? Maybe a touch of silk? Hmm.

It is definitely a big print :p Glad it's not overwhelming!

    Hi Lyn --

Agreeing with "K" for the reasons everyone's already shared. Can't go wrong with flattering and practical!

As an occasional wrap wearer, I do recommend a slip beneath -- I find full ones the easiest.

This is fantastic. I love this on you. The silhouette is lovely, and the print is lively and interesting. It's very professional.

Sounds like a keeper!! I think I need a slip though, as you suggested, Vix ... Kinda booby :p

At work again... Sorry if sparse, will reply later. Gah!

Gorgeous. Fits well, looks current, and it has sleeves. Fab dress.

*lyn, there's a picture of Kate Middleton on the cover of Redbook's September issue wearing a dress eerily similar to this one.  Saw it and thought of you!

This is so beautiful!  The print makes me think of that paper-cloth that Polynesian cultures make (am I thinking of barkcloth?)  or the fabric that Okinawan women dye.  Again... I can't think of the name.

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

Emily, it's the Kate Dress; hence I thought I'd be able to sell it for more on eBay or something if it wasn't right for me :)

Hmm, Polynesian fabrics sound cool! Will have to research!
