I tried on a cute Melot button-up shirt today in a chiffon-y- material, and was quite delighted to find it online as well! There wasn't the white shirt in store to try on, but since one of my goals this year is to finally find a white button-down that works, I think I might order it.
Since I am paying shipping, I thought I'd ask your opinion as well - do you think I should get the merlot as well? It's definitely not white!
ETA: Price is not an issue.

They sure are for me. I think I wear my non-white button shirts more often than my white one. I love that merlot color.

I too have a white , but get more use out of my other colors. I think that merlot cranberry color is lovely.

I have few whites, but find the colors actually get more use since I like to have some color by my face.
ETA: I love the drapey-ness of the shirt in the photos!

I use my black button down the most. A shirt in a flattering color is always a joy to wear. If merlot is one of your best colors and you really like the style, go for it.

That looks like a lovely shirt. I like all colors of button downs and wear them regularly. But I will say, I get many more compliments when I wear my white button down with jeans for some reason.

I bought a burgundy blouse this season and even though I like it, I have to force myself to wear it. While like Deb I get enthusiastic comments about my white shirt. Oddly I would say burgundy is my color and white is not. I haven't figured it out. Look deep inside because it looks like our answers are varying widely!!!
