Anthropologie Hack: Poof Skirt

Ugh. This Anthro skirt was way too long and poofy and everyone hated it: but I decided to try to hack it into something unique and to my style!

The original skirt was almost ankle length on me; and had heavy black markings which made me look very wide.

1) under construction! The pins are very pokey!

2/3) Current incarnation: in the future I can always trim the tulle to be shorter than the skirt for a third look.

What do you guys think? Suggestions?

ETA: #4 - The original - which unfortunately was MUCH more poofy than the model and longer on me :(

The shorter length looks like it will be better for you.
I'm not a big fan of the underskirt sticking out below it, though.

Me neither, Parsley, now that you mention it - I'll fix it - maybe just a smidgin of tulle?

I agree, Lynn, to a smidgen of tulle!  Sometimes we have to show our clothes who is boss!

Maybe bring the hem down about 1.5 to 2 inches. What a great idea to make the skirt your own!

How does it look at the shorter length without the tulle? I'm not sure about the sweet tulle with the bold chevron pattern.

Is the tulle necessary to act as a crinoline? What happens if you remove it? Does the skirt just hang limply or does it have a less exaggerated shape?

If you keep the tule (I actually like the idea), I would go for the longer lenght. If you plan on wearing the sans tule at all times, then the knee one is more to my liking.

(And yeah, less tule even if you keep it)
