WiW 6.15 - A Casual Grocery Run; Hour 26 of my day!

I don't think I post a lot of my causal outfits because I usually repeat a lot of the same things, especially when I am post call.

I don't think I have shared this with you though! One of my favorite dresses in organic cotton (fair trade!) that feels like wearing pjs in public!

It has kinda poofy sleeves though, so I will have to do some sewing machine magic. Haven't gotten to it yet.

  • Dress: People Tree
  • Belt: Anthropologie
  • Jean Jacket: Forever21
  • Flats: Coro Cosmo

It's the reverse of my usual, but it is summer!

I brought a snugly cardigan to pop on at the office!

And hoops! I never wear hoops, but these were delightful!

WiW 6.11 - The Real World vs. The Mirror

After reading Anna's interesting WiW thread, I thought about how "realistic" my WiW were: I think they are reflective of my "work" look that is an environmentally controlled center!

I have a 2km by foot commute to the subway, so pumps rarely work on this (and it wears down my shoes like no tomorrow), so I swap to flats or sandals (my wedges are awesome!) - I thought I would also post my "commute" look (Pic 3) which is usually less sleek but hopefully still fun!

I managed to borrow some pumps from my sister for work today! I need some black suede ones :)

Did I mention this dress has pockets?!

  • Dress: eShakti
  • Belt: Joe Fresh
  • Earrings: Anthropologie
  • Trench: Ricki's
  • Pumps: Cole Haan

The Custom Experience; Part 2

(See Part One) ...

I tacked on sleeves to this dress as well, and liberated it from the stuffy collar design they had as well! It comes with a self belt, but I am not too fond of those!

Light and twirly, feel like a ballerina who has been invited for tea!

I might do more custom clothing if this works out; I feel a lot happier knowing things fit! Also a much better experience with eShakti this time as compared to three years ago! And their cotton quality has gone up as well!

The duties are a bit stuff coming to Canada though, but I am just going to factor these into cost.

Does this custom frock meet YLF standards?

The Custom Experience; Part 1

I have been struggling with finding dresses that fit my body; I have the larger arms an shoulders from working out which makes almost every dress a hassle when it comes to fitting a waist and upper chest! And tack in pockets and coverage from work and length just makes me want to scream!

I thought that Boden was going to be helpful, but I am in between their sizes which means a lot of sewing for me, and sometimes I worry I am not doing a good job.

I turned to a custom designed dress website I had previously used (eShakti) and ordered three dresses to my exact measurements! And I could even get little Kate Middleton sleeves!

This is the first dress; it is not as vibrant in colour as I hoped it would be, but the material is nice and soft. The cotton has a lovely feel to it and I love the back V. Definitely can wear to work!

  • Dress: eShakti
ETAI remotely had one of Kate Middleton's dresses (Pic #4) in mind when I saw this fabric, but wasn't sure which dress it was! Now I've found it! She loves her straight dresses, but I like my fit and flares!

WiW: 6.10 - Part 2 - Needed at work?//5 Min Turnaround!!

Something is going on at work and we all got recalled.

It's rainy and yucky out, but a quick turn around on the casual outfit earlier, now for work!

The only the blazer that fits, out with the big earrings and a smaller belt. Necklace to tie it all together!

And I wore my dotty trench coat with my dotty mustache umbrella! Feel so Kate Spade in a hurry!!

  • Blazer: Anthropologie
  • Dress: Emily and Fin
  • Necklace: RW&Co
  • Belt: Joe Fresh
  • Purse: Kate Spade
  • Trench Coat: Ricki's
  • Flats: Born

WiW 6.10 - Errands in Red Dots!

Just a hustle and bustle day to do all those regular life things... Funny how they get put off sometimes.

Just realized how my shoulders look bigger. That's why most of my blazers don't fit anymore. Sad face.

  • Dress: Emily and Fin
  • Belt: Vintage Burberry
  • Earrings: Anthropologie
  • Tote: Zara
  • Sandals: Clarks
  • Watch: Fossil

WiW 6.09 - A Matter of Numbers!

One of my favorite cotton summer frocks! It has numbers and math equations all over it! I had a patient with OCD who would follow me around to count the numbers though, so this is a paperwork at the office dress!

It has a really goofy neckline and I think I will have to work some sewing machine magic....

  • Cardigan: Ricki's
  • Necklace: Anthropologie
  • Belt: Vintage Burberry
  • Dress: (Bea and Dot) ModCloth
  • Sandals: Clark's
