The Frock Doc

I loved Despicable Me and Gru's cute little yellow minions in overalls and it wasn't until I threw on the denim jacket did this dress remind me of them! Haha. Hopefully, more as a tribute than a complete homage!

I decided to try the half up hair thing someone had suggested to me, and while I do like the front view (1), my scalp is light coloured and does this look weird (3)?

ETA: My vintage Burberry belt arrived :) Just the way I like it - strong and subtle. Tee hee. 

:) I don't really have a rainbow of suits, but I tried to colour gradient everything! 

Three sections: tops, skirts and dresses! And a bin for jeans!

The Mean Allied Health Instructor told me today that I had so many skirts that I could go all month without a repeat. I counted today: she is right!

I am hoping YLF can help advise me here on a sticky subject! I am trying to be PPP for the perfect trench coat, and I have embarked a few of my friends and family on the search for one. I apparently mention the PPP trench coat many, many times, but my godfather decided to surprise me and he wants to buy me a trench!

Now ... he had asked me previously why I found it so hard to buy a "perfect" trench and I had mentioned Burberry to him before. We even went together to a Burberry store and we tried on a few styles, but I didn't really like any of them. 

He just sent me an email to "keep an eye on my mailbox in September" - and I thought "uhoh". 

First - whatever he bought me, I am very happy for. I am very appreciative that he encourages my (crazy) style choices, and that he remembers all the weird things I talk to him about. 

But - he will expect me to get a lot of wear out of whatever he got me, and I'm terrified that it will be as far from PPP as possible! 

I have until the middle of September. Should I just get tons and tons of pictures of whatever he got me and then send him a pic once in awhile and pretend I wear it a lot? Even if I really hate it? So I don't hurt his feelings?

Just for fun! I found that my outfit today had the same basic elements as that we wore for family pictures last year! :)

Maybe I am trending towards A Lot on the Go! Lol.

Hmm. I think it is time to clean my closet. I had a struggle with getting dressed this morning which admittedly was definitely more difficult due to lack of cropped cardigans.

I felt my cardigans were too long, and there is something about the blazer with the high neckline I don't really like. Hmm.

Any suggestions or insights for what is making this outfit not work?

I had to work last night, but I got to go out and try to find more amazing tshirts! Unfortunately, quality had gone downhill very rapidly and they don't have them anymore. Boo.

Also bonus outtake since all of you look so fab in your striped blazers! I don't like collarless blazers I have decided!

On my shopping adventures (online), I found this pretty red dress by Eliza J - it has a lot of the elements that I like - the peplum, and the volume at the bottom, although I really need to be more daring and try pleats! I also like the bold zipper on the back! 

I was reminded, though, of Kate M having a similar dress (Alexander McQ) - #3.

When does a dress cross the mark between being an "inspired by" - I'm sure Alex McQ and Kate M don't have the copyright on "RED PLEATED DRESSES WITH PEPLUM" - vs. "Oh, that's just a cheap rip off of Kate M's dress"?

But I think I can get away with it! I love this type I shirt and am so glad I doubled up when they were in stock last year! They are tag less and 90% comfy cotton!

And I am working today! Hopefully it will be a quiet 26 hrs.

Ooooh! Decided to wear something again. Back to back! Haha: I love this dress so much I figured it was worth trying to do laundry at 23:00hrs, right? And I had a new purchase arrive from eBay that smelled like it has been dunked in perfume!!! Eww.

An interesting side note: I found this giraffe dress at Anthropologie too! I didn't get it there, but I wasn't too surprised to see it there! Guess you can take the girl out of Antro but not the Anthro out of the girl! ;)
