Well ... there goes May's budget! Anthro Sale :) ... HELP! Has anyone seen this dress?

Well, there goes my May shopping budget aside from my call stipends, haha, and I was quite delighted to stumble upon this Anthro sale! I don't usually have a lot of luck with Anthro in store (because any size of mine is sold out instantly) so I tried the american site - and ordered a few things!

1) I love the origami fold of the "Architectural Shift" - and it's long enough!! It looks so adorable and I'm just hoping that the chest detail won't be like a huge dart. :p From the reviews it doesn't seem like this is a problem.

2) One of my residents has this beautiful blazer, and I've always been insanely jealous of it whenever she wears it - Mineeeeee! :)

3) The Margo Pencil Dress has a lot of wonderful reviews and I think it will add a spot of colour to my wrap dress collection (currently cobalt blue and black only - kinda bleeeeeeeh). - I think it will work okay with a navy blazer, a red blazer, a black blazer, and my pink one!! :) AND SLEEVES!

4) OH SO PRETTY. SPARKLE!!!!

5) The Caledonia Cutout Dress has a little bit of a cutout in the back, but definitely looks like it could work with a blazer or a cardigan! I love the pattern and the shape; and it's length is beautiful for me too! :) I LOVE LONGER LENGTHS. SO EXCITED!! AND SLEEVES!!!!

// All in all, <$250. Phew. Every time I see anything Anthro, I start freaking out. LOL.

Has anyone seen the dress in #6? It's sold out online and looks terribly adorable. I'd be okay with a size 4; possibly a 2 ... If anyone could get it for me, I'd be terribly grateful and PayPal you back and shipping and everything :)

WiW: A surprise day off! Floral and denim!

Yay! The clinic had a water main that exploded overnight so there's a day off for me!

Am heading out for an impromptu coffee with some friends!

Secret badass punk on the back of this jacket! So fun! :)

WiW: Old favorites, Pattern Mix and a Midi!

Man, it is a challenge to find things to wear to the office these warmer days when I am used to just popping on a frock and a pair of boots!

Luckily, these pumps are super comfy (and on year three) and this top is fun to match with different things (and on year three as well!)

A very twirly day!

Giving eShakti a Second Chance...

Custom made goodies seem too good to be true at the eShakti price point. Last time I tried buying anything from them (approximately a year ago), I was disappointed by quality and customs. I did have pretty good luck with their "overstock" section where people have returned things that they didn't really like - these products were already in North America, so I didn't have to accrue the shipping charges from Thailand (which were outrageous!) I also had an unresolved incident in which they didn't send me a jacket I ordered.

I also sized down this time; their idea of 4 was definitely not my idea of 4.

For only $40 each (regular $72 or so), I decided to try these Kate Spade-esque summer skirts, more because I needed something below-knee length that were appropriate to wearing to work during the summer when I may skive off the "bare legs" rule in clinic... I went with a navy (#1) and cherry red (#2).

http://www.eshakti.com/product/CL0025766 is a black one!
http://www.eshakti.com/product/CL0025768 is a yellow one = LOVE!

The closest I've found on Etsy were around these same skirts for about $78 a pop, so I figure that maybe eShakti picked up their socks? Their review also seems to be pretty good, although I'm not sure if the bloggers got free merchandise (http://thedoubletakegirls.com/.....ties-skirt) Also, they have Paypal as a method of payment, so if they don't ship here, then I'll sic Paypal on them!!!!

... the red one could be part of my Where's Waldo costume for halloween :p
... and if these work out, #3 is also calling my name pretty strongly!

Has anyone had any luck with eShakti?

Ask Angie & YLF: "Formal" Event - What to Wear?

Dear Angie and YLF,

I have been invited to an ambiguous event. There is no dress code on the invitation (it is a faculty dinner), and people I have asked said it is as "formal as you want" - which is no help.

I am unsure what I should be wearing to avoid being overdressed (although that is better than being underdressed, of course). Last time we went to a similar event, there were people in full out floor length gowns ranging to someone showing up in a button up shirt and slacks.

I have posted what I thought I might wear ... Any suggestions?

I am hoping to not have to buy stuff. :p But I will if I have to!

Dresses:
#1 - I have this in black, not red; although I can't find a pic of the red.
#2 - I wore this for my grad banquet, although not a repeat crowd.
#3 - A bit heavier for spring, I had intended this for a winter event.

Pumps:
#1 - A bit flashy for a not-solid dress, maybe?
#2 - Nude pumps go with everything? Boring?
#3 - Black pumps go with everything? Boring? :p

Accessories:
#1 - A peacock theme?
#2 - Easy to match :)
#3 - Ditto, easy to match!

WiW: Finally warm outside! UPDATE!

My blue flamingos are out to play again! Off to have some ice cream! And a detailed shot of the lace underlay that was asked about before!

Here's a few more pics - a rare one where someone else is the photographer (man, I'm jealous of all those fashion bloggers who are dating photographers! I think they have the right idea!)

#3 - yup; it's a slip! I have this slip in the dark grey, a light grey and an off-white colour, and they are so useful for adding that little extra OOMPH to an outfit!

#4 - a better shot of my pink clutch! I love it! Used it to pieces and CPW is less than 50-cents, even though I just bought it this March!

#5 - I don't think you guys have seen my sunglasses? :p

Thanks for looking! Any comments and suggestions are lovely and appreciated :)

WiW: A Professional Look ... and the Fun Commute! // New Jacket!

Hey!

My new jacket came in the post yesterday, and after a long fight with the postal office, I got it released to me! It's a black pleather quilted jacket and is actually quite warm. I ordered it in black (#8) and white (#9), but I didn't like the look in white, so that is going back to the store :) It was a steal at $29 (original $120) at Rickis - that means you, Canadian Fabbers!

I thought it was a bit too "fun" for the clinic I was at this morning, so I brought a traditional blazer with me.

You know what I've noticed? Less cardigans and more blazers! The Angie Influence is making me lean toward these tailored looks more and more often!

Also; my last blitz of call has paid for a few extras for me to close out April with - #4 to 7 - The black suede pumps were a steal at $70; Cole Haan that make me feel like Kate Middleton - which I suppose, can't be a bad thing, right?

Love ya!
