My last May $100 - Vote for your Fav!

Tee hee; I picked up an extra shift, so I have a few more buckeroos to spend on pretty dresses this summer! I am hoping that I could request your input as to which of the following options would be the best for me?

Of course, they are all from Anthro. My dad would like to know if people who are addicted to Anthro should go to rehab :p

The contenders for my last $100 are as follows...

1. The Vera Sketched Danios dress - what I thought was an interesting print of grass are actually fish! Just too terribly cute!

2. The Notched Dots Cord dress - very typical of what I usually wear; I'm a little worried it looks pretty similar to other dotty dresses that I have; but what can I say, I love dots!

3. Nadinoo Lula's Pear dress - it's a sheath! But apparently it's supposed to be very flattering! And it has pears all over it!!! Apparently the bow is easy to tie, but if not, I'm pretty sure that it can be removed.

4. The Hilda Shirtdress - It's supposed to be seasonless, and looks fun to dress up and down!

5. Porridge Elephant Dress - It has elephants (detail in 6). ELEPHANTS. OMG SO CUTE. I probably couldn't wear the dress as is to work, I'd probably wear it as a skirt, and wear a top over it; so to make the dress function as a skirt. BUT IT HAS ELEPHANTS.

I have a frontrunner, but I wanted to know what you guys thought :) !!! Thanks!

WiW: Peplums and Tutus - Take 2!

Somehow I think this combination is more pleasing to my eye!

What do you ladies think? I'll bring a blazer for clinic, though! :)

WiW: Tutu adventures!

I think this is as about as whimsical I can get at work!

Something weird happened today that hasn't for a long time: I tried on something that looked so awful I couldn't wear it out of the house! So tutu got to come out and play instead!! :)

Midis, Flats and T-Shirts...

I feel this is a different play on proportions.

I did feel that the blazer this morning was probably too long (felt a bit like playing dress up!) and so I went with something more cropped for my afternoon.

Also popped on some flats.

Hope this is okay! :)

WiW: A midi and a peplum?

I saw this on Pinterest (lol) last night and thought I'd make a go at it: what do you guys think of this? It would solve the high waist problems that happens sometimes! :)

Skirt Friendly Tops ... and a Funny Patient Encounter!

I am going to wager that if my skirts are longer, and more "serious" that way; I can balance them with a more "twee" top - and still be able to get away with it! Tee hee!

I have been staring at these tops for a long time, but I was afraid with a shorter skirt they would be to twee-twee for me to wear to work, even under a blazer.

I have been seriously addicted to blazers in the last little bit - what did I ever do without them adding beautiful structure to my outfits?

One of my patients said to me today, "Thank you for dressing nicely. Young people never do that anymore."

I thanked her, and my preceptor said (she's really against the way I dress for some reason), "It's probably more important to have a good attitude and a nice smile though, right?"

Patient: "No. I noticed her pretty skirt first, then her pretty smile."

:) Tee hee.

ETA: Found an old store credit! This is why you never throw away all your receipts! I think I'm going to try 4/5 and 6/7 as a mail order (none in store) and try to hunt down the pretty coral colour (8) if I can find it in store :) - One of my friends has a really beautiful chambray shirt, and I want to try one out!

WiW: Orphan Challenge!

I remember why this skirt became an orphan: it's so hard to find a top! Not too happy, but running late!

Uhoh ... getting kinda sick of short fit and flares.

I think I'm falling in love with midi skirts and those that are just below my knee! I didn't know how much more comfortable they would be in clinic and when I'm driving when I don't have to worry about flashing thigh!

I am thinking of rolling my shorter fit and flares into a plastic bin and waiting for the winter - it's more forgiving if I have tights on vs. bare legs in the summer, to show a little thigh.

I have a sneaky feeling that when winter rolls around, I'll still be loving my midi's though - I really like the below-the-knee length, and I think I will pony up my next month's budget to get a few things tailored closer to winter when i can't wear pumps as often.

Please tell me longer lengths are here to stay for a little bit ... right? It's hard to find a midi length in stores (I think Angie was talking about this last year too!) so eBay and Anthro have really been helping me out here.

My bonus cheque this month should really be made out to Anthro from the hospital! HAHA.

I did the math, and they're actually quite a bit cheaper than what I usually spend on skirts, and I love the reviews - here's what I did when I was on "home call" this weekend - dug up cute and adorable skirts from eBay!

1/2. My favorite - they tote it as a year-round dress, so I hope I will be able to make it work; it seems subtle enough in that way; and is a nice silk/cotton blend. Apparently it has a bit of a sheen in the "sea" part of the fabric, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing it in person! ($50 - regular $158)

3/4. Another number I'm hoping will be versatile - I think it will be easy to pattern mix with this one; but it seems that it is simple enough that I can wear with black turtleneck for winter. ($50 - regular $178)

5. Definitely one for summer, but a cotton skirt with lining that is long enough for me and utterly adorable cannot be passed on! ($40 - regular $130)

6. They tote this one as a "year round" dress too - but I think it will work nicely with some of my patterned tops, and I don't have very much yellow in my closet. It should keep the yellow away from my face, so that is quite good! And it has pockets!!! I can easily see this one transitioning seasons! ($60 - regular $178)

7/8. I am debating about this one; I thought because of it's cottony nature it would definitely be more of a summer skirt, but the way they have styled it seems to make it easy to transition as well. I like the subtle pattern, but would this be too much of a repeat of dress 1 and 6 in terms of colours?

Are you guys sporting longer lengths more?

Is this me just becoming more adult? I just feel so TWEE sometimes in my shorter flare skirts.
